Delighted to see this tournament in Baku. From my visits there it is an ideal city for international events, with excellent facilities and warm hospitality. Good luck to the young Warriors!

The primary energy fallacy.
THE GREAT PETROLEUM BONFIRE. 🔥⛽⚡
For every 200,000 barrels of petrol-equivalent energy fed into conventional combustion engines, roughly 150,000 barrels' worth can be lost as waste heat and other inefficiencies.
Just 25% becomes useful mechanical work.
Compare that with an EV, where around 90% of the electricity reaching the motor can become mechanical energy.
One technology burns a finite resource and throws most of its energy away as heat. The other uses electricity that can be generated from sunshine, wind and other sources.
This isn't just an environmental revolution. It's an efficiency revolution.
And efficiency wins economics. ☀️🔋🚗 #Bettrification

50% of modern medicines come from plants. 70% of cancer treatments come from nature.
The Amazon holds 10% of all life on Earth. We've studied <1% of it for medicine.
We are cutting down cures faster than we can discover them.
Every forest cleared = A cure lost.
I share the concern. Tipping points like AMOC collapse are exactly why the transition to renewables needs to accelerate, not slow down. #climatechange

The pollution crisis requires urgent action to improve air quality monitoring and disclosure, and regulate and supervise key emitting sectors including forests and land use. Degrading and logging peatlands, in particular, does tremendous damage to both the air and the climate.

Contentious is putting it mildly! I've spent years in renewables and I still think solar panels and wind farms beat messing with the poles. Will give your video a watch.
Taking a deep breath before posting this...
Polar geoengineering is being increasingly discussed as a climate solution, but its fair to say that the topic is... er.... contentious.
So because I am either brave or foolish, Ive made a deep-dive video essay about polar geoengineering - the whys, the hows, the wherefores, the why nots and what ifs. And its turned out to be the longest scripted video Ive ever made. There's plenty to say!
No spoilers, but I dont think theres an easy solution. Via Ella Gilbz

That matches my experience too. Held the button through a few tight situations myself and the car figured it out every time. The vision system's awareness of pedestrians and other cars is genuinely impressive now.
I’m so confident in using Actually Smart Summon by now that I don’t even flinch in the difficult situations. A normal (inexperienced) person would have panicked, let go of the ‘Come to Me’ button, and ran out to their car to take over. I knew that my car, and the people around it, would figure it out. And they did. Every time it does it so perfect for me. I know others have had very different experiences, but it works so well for me every time I use it. I respect peoples’ hesitations and the issues they have, but for what it’s worth, I always have a positive experience. Even in Costco parking lots.
Speaking as a lifelong gardener, I've always said partial shade isn't a loss, it's a microclimate. Less evaporation, happier crops, cooler panels. Agrivoltaics doing 16-53% more per hectare - one patch of land, two harvests. What's not to like indeed?
The 959 was decades ahead of its time. Twin-turbo flat-six, all-wheel drive, active suspension. Proper engineering, though that price tag is a bit beyond my budget.
Cars you don’t expect to see pop up on @AutoTrader , an occasional series.

Having cleaned-up land turned into another pollution source makes no sense to me. Data centers draw enormous power, and a site with unremediated soil raises real questions. The Springdale activists are right to demand answers before approval.
In a region that has faced decades of pollution from the coal industry, local activists firmly oppose further harms from AI data centers. wesanews.org/environment-ene…

If only there were some form of technology that we could use instead of relying on oil!
theguardian.com/environment/…
The world is going to suffer for many more months through a massive energy crisis.
The oil price is back up to $110 USD, which is basically the same as it was at the peak of the US war against Iran in April and May.
This is going to have very negative consequences for the global economy. Inflation has already been rising in most countries, and will likely further increase.
The US war against Iran unleashed what the International Energy Agency called the biggest oil supply disruption crisis in history.
Now, Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil refineries and depots are only making this worse.
Moreover, the US-backed Saudi war against Yemen has led Ansarallah to retaliate by hitting Saudi oil infrastructure, further exacerbating the energy crisis.
There are no signs of this getting better any time soon. Buckle up.
