Update: In the 27 months since Labour came to power, we've seen; • Employer National Insurance increased from 13.8% to 15%. • The employer NI threshold cut from £9,100 to £5,000. • The freeze on Income Tax and National Insurance thresholds extended to 2031. • Capital Gains Tax increased from 10% and 20% to 18% and 24%. • Business Asset Disposal Relief increased from 10% to 14%, then 18% – and now its lifetime limit halved to £500,000. • Investors’ Relief raised to 18% and its lifetime limit cut from £10 million to £1 million. • CGT relief on sales to Employee Ownership Trusts halved. • Carried interest taxation increased and moved into the Income Tax regime. • Dividend tax rates increased by two percentage points. • Savings-income tax rates increased by four percentage points. • Property-income tax rates increased by four percentage points. • VCT income tax relief cut from 30% to 20%. • Most unused pension funds brought into the Inheritance Tax net. • Agricultural and Business Property Relief capped. • Inheritance Tax thresholds frozen until 2031. • The non-dom regime replaced with a tougher residence-based system. • VAT imposed on private school fees. • Business-rates relief removed from private schools. • The Stamp Duty surcharge on second homes and buy-to-let raised from 3% to 5%. • The Furnished Holiday Lettings regime abolished. • A new annual surcharge on homes worth £2 million or more. • Pension salary-sacrifice NI relief capped at £2,000 a year. • The bank surcharge doubled. • Capital allowances for plant and machinery cut twice. • Online gaming duty almost doubled. • The Energy Profits Levy increased and extended, and its investment allowance scrapped. • Vaping Products Duty brought in and tobacco duties increased above inflation. • Vehicle Excise Duty increased for many new cars, with electric vehicles brought in. • A pay-per-mile tax on electric and plug-in hybrid cars legislated for 2028. • Air Passenger Duty increased. • Making Tax Digital extended to more landlords and self-employed people. Together they represent one of the biggest transfers of wealth from households and businesses to the Treasury in decades – with little to show for it in public services. Whether you're a business owner employing staff, a parent paying school fees, a farmer planning succession, an entrepreneur building wealth or simply someone trying to save for your family’s future... - You keep less of what you earn. - You keep less of what you invest. - You leave less for your family. Death by a thousand cuts.

For context, a Russian dissident criticizing the Putin regime anonymously from the UK now risks persecution and death if Russia or North Korea manages to get hold of social media firms’ doxing databases. Which they will. Huge infringement on freedom of speech.
🚨BREAKING: All Britons may need ID to use social media, the UK's online safety regulator today announces “This plan for a government ‘social media ban’ is a national ID system by the back door. Both the government and Ofcom have admitted that children will get around the ban, which means the real effect will be normalising adults and children alike to hand over their passports just to get online. Hundreds of thousands of people without ID, who tend to be poorer people, and many more who don’t want to risk handing their passports over to foreign tech companies will be locked out of huge parts of the internet. The plan will kill anonymity online, whilst the UK’s culture of speech policing is reaching a crisis point. The policy is painfully misguided, an Orwellian assault on free speech and privacy, and will make children no safer at all. The false illusion that children aren’t on social media will cause the companies to abandon all their child safety measures. The Government could be promoting meaningful safety measures and supporting parental controls that genuinely protect children - instead, they’re demanding government ID from the whole population just for uncensored internet access. It is authoritarian madness.” - Silkie Carlo | @silkiecarlo Read ⤵️ telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/10…

WELCOME TO HELL. I did warn you. They don’t give a damn about protecting children. They want to censor and control the internet while ushering in Digital ID. Hope your virtue signalling over Adolescence and the manosphere was worth it.
🚨 NEW: Ofcom says all adults should have to use their ID to access social media. • Ofcom has recommended four methods for verifying users’ ages ahead of the UK’s ban on social media for under-16s, which is due to come into force in March next year. • The four methods suggested, subject to government approval, are photo ID matching, banking-based checks, live facial age estimation and digital ID. • The regulator noted that verifying the ages of 16 and 17-year-olds is challenging because many do not have credit cards, full driving licences or passports. • Ofcom chief executive Dame Melanie Dawes said the ban can work if firms carry out highly effective age checks, and that the regulator will take action against companies that fail to comply.

🇬🇧 The OBR just dropped 200 pages on Healey's first Budget. I read it so you don't have to. Tax is at a record 37.9% of GDP by 2027-28, past the old high of 37.2%. Then it climbs every single year to 38.6%. Frozen thresholds are doing way too much to workers since they get a pay rise, hand more of it over. 1.8x the national minimum wage now classes you as a higher tax rate payer - what the fuck? Borrowing @ £133bn this year. In March they said £115bn. Seven months later it's £18bn worse. And it's higher than March in every year of the forecast because neither the OBR nor treasury has a clue what they’re doing. Debt interest at £39bn in 2019-20. £109bn last year 😩 £160bn by 2031-32 😩😩£15bn of this year's bill is extra bc inflation's pushing up index linked gilts, and we know the uk has a structural inflation problem, partly due to the relationship between treasury and BoE. Headroom is £14.5bn, down from £21.7bn at the last Budget. Keep the fuel duty freeze going and it's £10.2bn. The OBR gives Healey a 56% chance of hitting his OWN FUCKING rule. Debt will peak at 97.3% of GDP, still 95.6% in 2031-32. Five years and it barely moves which is completely against his fiscal demands. How it affects you? Growth 1% next year with gdp per capita basically the same as it has been since 2019 Inflation 3.4% when March said 2%. Zero real pay growth in 2027. Living standards in 2030-31? Just 2% above pre-pandemic. But don't worry. You're getting a £100 council tax rebate. Jesus Christ.

Yes. Marxism divides society into oppressors and oppressed. Critical Race Theory applies this framework to race, casting brown people as oppressed. Since Islam is predominantly followed by brown people, the far left treats Muslims as victims to be defended, even when Islamic beliefs contradict its own values. That’s why the left don’t care about Muslim rape gangs or Islamist terrorist attacks. If Islam was practised by predominantly by white people, the left wouldn’t give a shit about Muslims or Islam.
Can someone explain why the "far left" for want of a better term are so defensive about Islam? It doesn't make any sense to me. Stripped back it's everything they pretend to object to.

A great rant from a friend: “I don't know who's running the British newspapers at the moment, but I reckon somebody's accidentally given the editorial jobs to a bunch of fucking doomsday preppers. Have you seen the absolute state of the news lately? World War Three. Nuclear Armageddon. Russian cyberattacks. Chinese hackers. Emergency survival kits. How to prepare for the end of civilisation. Every bloody newspaper seems to be running the same story. You'd think Vladimir Putin had been spotted at Dover services with a tank and a packed lunch. And apparently, the most important thing we can do to prepare for all this is go shopping. Seriously. We're being advised to stockpile food, water, torches, batteries and enough toilet roll to survive the collapse of Western civilisation. Do they genuinely believe we're all going to read these articles, leap off the sofa and charge down to Asda like there's a fucking trolley dash on? I reckon somebody's looked at the Christmas retail figures and thought, "How can we get these bastards to spend another two hundred quid?" "Tell them the Russians are coming." "Brilliant. We'll shift those seventeen pallets of corned beef we've had sitting in the warehouse since Easter." And what exactly am I supposed to do with all these emergency supplies if there's a nuclear attack? Imagine it. You're sitting in your living room, minding your own business, when suddenly there's an enormous flash outside. The windows explode. The roof comes off. There's a nuclear shockwave tearing through the city, flattening everything in its path. And there you are, crawling across the kitchen floor, desperately trying to get the fucking tin opener out of the drawer. "QUICK! SOMEBODY GET THE BEANS!" What fucking difference are beans going to make? You're about to be vaporised at several thousand degrees. I don't think the nutritional benefits of baked beans are going to be particularly relevant. But the politicians are the funniest part of all this. Angela Rayner was asked what she'd be stockpiling. Sauvignon Blanc and mascara. Sauvignon Blanc and fucking mascara! I love that. The world's coming to an end, millions could die, civilisation might collapse, but Angela's making sure she's got a decent bottle of white and her eyelashes done. Then Andy Burnham comes along telling people not to stockpile alcohol because they need to keep a clear head. Well, thank Christ we've got that sorted. One politician's preparing for the apocalypse like she's going to an all-inclusive resort in Tenerife, and another's telling everybody to drink responsibly. And apparently Andy's emergency supplies include Twiglets. Fucking Twiglets. I mean, at what point did the national security discussion turn into everybody comparing what they've brought to a children's birthday party? We're supposedly facing the possibility of World War Three, and our political leaders are having a conversation that wouldn't sound out of place in the middle aisle of Aldi. And then there's the cyberattack warnings. Apparently, Russia or China could launch a massive cyberattack and bring down our communications, electricity supplies and essential services. Right. And what am I supposed to do about that? Unplug the kettle? Put the laptop in a biscuit tin? I can just imagine some highly trained Russian cyberwarfare specialist sitting in Moscow, surrounded by millions of pounds' worth of sophisticated computer equipment. "Comrade, we have penetrated the British national infrastructure." "Excellent. Shut down their electricity." "We cannot, sir." "Why not?" "Some bastard in Ellesmere Port has wrapped his Virgin Media router in fucking Bacofoil." It's a good job Churchill isn't around to witness this. "We shall fight them on the beaches. We shall fight in the fields and in the streets. We shall never surrender." "Unless we've run out of Pot Noodles, in which case we're absolutely fucked." What a fucking pantomime.”

Burnham has spent the day going on about how the only way for the UK economy to survive is to get close to the collapsing EU The he announces a policy of cutting import tariffs, something he can only do because of Brexit It’s not so much that the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing but the left hand not knowing of the existence of the right hand & denying that it even exists in the first place
🚨 NEW: Andy Burnham has announced five "everyday fixes" ahead of the Budget 1. Carer's Allowance will be changed so carers no longer lose their entire benefit when they earn over the limit - instead, their support will reduce by £1 for every extra £1 they earn 2. Import tariffs will be removed on more than 100 products, including baked beans, chocolate and gherkins, to save households up to £21 on their food shop a year 3. Tax-free mileage rates for workers using their own cars will be made permanent at 55p per mile for the first 10,000 miles, with the rate for additional miles rising from 25p to 35p 4. Parental pay will be extended to over 150,000 more parents a year, including self-employed fathers and partners 5. Hundreds more Post Office drop boxes will be rolled out to save people queueing at branches

Almost everything Burnham says in this piece is a lie. - We didn't get a "harder" Brexit than what was mentioned in the Referendum. We left with the most comprehensive trade agreement the EU has ever signed. - The small boats crisis didn't emerge because of losing "returns agreements". While we were in the EU we were a net-, recipient of illegal immigrants from these agreements, the small boats crisis has emerged because of a global surge in illegal immigration and pull-factors like our human rights laws. - Immigration within the EU was not "revolving door". It has been permanent, and significantly more than estimated at the time. Over 6 million people have come here on the EU Settlement scheme, double estimated. The Prime Minister is dishonest and cynical, planning to hand border control to the EU, and likely pay them British taxpayers money while he's at it. – at Merton, London
Exclusive from @benclatworthy Britain is holding talks with the EU about a potential return to free movement and other options for closer alignment The Times has been told that the UK is discussing a series of options about the future relationship which are due to be unveiled within weeks Andy Burnham plans to set out his vision for closer ties with the bloc, including the potential of rejoining the union, and have a “conversation with the British public about our long-term future” The options that will be presented are being discussed with officials in Brussels to ensure both sides would ultimately be able to agree One source said all such routes would be “discussed using diplomatic channels” before any “big bang” launch of the options on the table thetimes.com/article/4ef6707…

Andy Burnham has told the Sunday Times that he is open to readopting free movement as part of a closer relationship with the EU. This would be an utter affront to all those - including the millions of working-class voters in Labour's traditional heartlands - who voted for Brexit. At a time when our immigration system remains completely broken, it would also be a calamitous own goal. Under no circumstances should the Labour party go along with it.

Astounding Sunday Times investigation reveals new scandal in SNP’s Socialist Scotland: 800 NHS, central government, council and quango workers whose jobs no longer exist but remain on the public payroll because of the SNP’s ‘no public-sector redundancy’ policy. Estimated cost of paying people to do nothing: £27m a year. One NHS Highland worker has been receiving a full salary and benefits for 17 years despite not having a specific job. The health board refused to say what the worker had been doing for almost two decades and how much they had been paid. Likely cost to the taxpayer is expected to be far higher with several public bodies refusing to disclose salaries for hundreds of the workers awaiting redeployment.

They blew up our power stations, they capped the oil wells, taxed the remaining power stations and threw subsidies at useless intermittent generators the grid wasn't designed for, and now they're telling us to stock up on food and water. What kind of immigration policy brings in somebody who is cleary educationally subnormal and put them on benefits for the rest of his life? He seems like a nice little fella but that really isn’t the point. We’re supposed to be bringing in people who contribute towards our economy and our way of life. Is this the best the world has to offer? Is it our job to look after him and everybody like him?
"Do you feel more English or Bangladesh" - "Bangladesh" "Do you miss Bangladesh?" - "Yes" "What do you do for work?" - "I don't work" "How do you make money and survive?" - "I get benefit" There are millions more like him in the UK...
