I fear this is bad timing as the Channel 4 show sucks up all the ADHD oxygen, but my new @BBCRadio4 documentary series starts on 24th. First ep explores the Language of Neurodiversity. I’ve interviewed lots of people and try to hold the uncertainties. bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0030m4…

All I’ll say is if this was AFCON and they let a man play after he got a red card, the nonsense being said would be crazy

It is important to resist the commodification of basic human needs. Food, water and healthcare cannot be subordinated to market considerations or geopolitical interests. Access to adequate food is a fundamental human right grounded in the dignity of every person. Meeting this need not only alleviates suffering but also addresses underlying causes of geopolitical instability. Indeed, food security is an essential component of global and integral security. vatican.va/content/leo-xiv/e…

Short answer to Q below: YES Resultant riots saw homes torched and BAME people attacked When similar crimes perpetrated by white British they barely register on BBC news eg Saudi student killed in Cambridge or anti Muslim rampage in Edinburgh requiring counter terrorism police
Did the BBC’s coverage of the Belfast knife attack help fan the flames of racial tension? Join us on Saturday at 07.45 on BBC1 @BBCBreakfast or at 15.45 on the News Channel. Or find us on the @BBCiPlayer from midnight

I agree with Mishal Muslim attack was 5th story on BBC website last night, below story about weather/heat Yet same BBC led on a man being stabbed in Belfast early claiming suspect Sudanese (initial police statement wrongly said he was Somalian). Subsequently riots ensued
The attack began near a mosque & ended with 5 people injured. Last night’s midnight bulletin on Radio 4 had the story half way down the running order and this morning’s 9 am bulletin had a 20 second read

I saw a post on my local Facebook page that said, "dog found in Victoria Park, please share" so I replied, "OK, I'll have it on Mondays and Wednesdays"

I just thought I’d say I’m thinking of my Jewish friends at the moment. And the fact that I thought twice about posting this because (insanely) I feared some blowback for such a statement is part of the problem.

Zelensky: We are facing one of the most dangerous periods in Ukrainian history, a choice between losing our dignity and freedom and losing US support. We choose dignity. My answer is my oath of office. I did not betray Ukraine in Feb 2022 and we won’t betray in now.

Cheeks was a pretty rough club in Deptford in the late 70s/80s. You'd weigh up the alternatives before going there. Then, one night, Marvin Gaye turned up. MARVIN GAYE TURNED UP.

Over the weekend, a mosque was set ablaze, another was target of vandalism and young Muslim girls were targeted by someone with scissors. This is the inevitable result of collective demonising an entire faith, a movement or an ethnicity. It needs to end.

The consequences of the daily demonising, maligning , stereotyping and stigmatising of Muslims- from mainstream politicians to the far right , from sections of the media to extremism on social networks , this poisoning of the political discourse has to stop. Over the last six weeks British Muslims, their places of worship and burial grounds have faced multiple attacks. I listed some of these incidents this morning in an interview @TimesRadio It’s time for government to take this issue seriously and respond with a full and comprehensive program to tackle Islamaphobia and anti Muslim racism.
This arson attack on a mosque last night is what happens when people blame whole groups for the actions of an extremist. Whoever did this is not only putting innocent people at risk, they are doing exactly what the terrorists want.
