South Asian is a term used to appropriate Hindu art, traditions and culture while using the term Hindu for aspects negatively stereotyped in the west for instance
Bindi, mehndi, Food, is South Asian.
Caste, Sati, etc is Hindu or Indian.
South Asian is the creole term that people who immigrate from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh to the U.S. use to delineate the shared experiences and cultural commonalities of many of them living in a Western society. This is especially so for second and third generation immigrants who generally don’t share or understand the intricate differences and resentments of people living in the region their parents or grandparents came from. No one really has a problem with it except for some FOBs and socially maladjusted people and it’s not intended to make sense to people actually living in those countries.

some dreams outlive generations... what a privilege to be alive in the generation that witnessed those dreams come to life

but but but but diwali is "south asian", "desi", pan desi 🥹.
Muslim colonial settlers want to appropriate hindu culture for brownie points internationally, while this is how they treat hindus in their own country.

Made by the kiddos in my society
Glad to see someone's still making these! I remember me and my friends used to make a killa each year in the society when we were kiddos too :D

100% based.
Like I've been saying: farmers don't care about government's diktats for a completely avoidable parli bruning.
So don't compromise with your essential religious practices for government's sake. Enjoy Deepawali like you did as a kid.
People will probably abuse me for this, and that’s okay. But when it comes to kids, I have no regrets.
The children in my village have been asking me for crackers for the last three months, so these are for around 12 of them.
I know this will become a lifetime memory they’ll always cherish.
And yes, not to forget they all came packed in the boot of an Audi!! 😀

A lot of educated people in this country are just Fattu in nature.
They will point out that stubble burning has less contribution to *annual* pollution.

This should be commonsense for everyone in the Indian diaspora
Don’t patronise Sikh, Pakistani and Bangladeshi businesses
These are the same people especially Sikhs who are constantly attacking Hindus and actively running a campaign against India in the west
Forget all the godly mythical elements, the fact that a King travelled 2600 kms on foot crossing various kingdoms, forests and a Ocean to rescue his queen from a foreign land across the ocean is enough reason to worship the divinity of Maryada Purshottam Dashrath Nandan Prabhu Shree Ram Chandraji Maharaja.

This 6kka generation does not burst firecrackers. Gen Z and Gen Alpha. A lot of my favourite childhood memories as a little boy was walking around like a commando with a bag full of explosives especially blowing up that green bomb. Diwali should sound like AKs going off for 5 days. It did until a decade ago.
