Two days ago I said something besides prices jumped out of the numbers. Here's the full story. The Red Tide didn't flip. It went out. Trump brought 77M voters in 2024. House Republicans got about 55.6M this week. Precinct data across 9 states shows Democrats kept 82 to 101% of their Harris voters. We kept 57 to 69% of Trump's. Out of every 100 Trump voters, 63 voted R, 4 switched, and 33 stayed home. That's not fraud and it's not a realignment. It's our own people sitting it out, and the drop was steepest in the reddest counties in America. I lay out the numbers and what it means for 2028 in The Republics Edge:
randysult.substack.com/p/the…
Everyone's blaming prices for last night. That's part of it. But dig into the numbers and something else jumps out.
Montgomery County, TX gave Trump the biggest raw-vote margin of any county in America in 2024. +45.
Last night? Paxton won it by 22. Cut in HALF in the reddest stronghold in Texas.
MAGA voters who showed up still went 99% R. So the base didn't flip.
A lot of it just didn't show up.
Who sat it out? The "teach them a lesson" crowd? Principled conservatives who won't vote lesser-of-two-evils? The podcasters who blackpilled half the right?
Full breakdown coming on The Republics Edge once the turnout data lands.
It would be a better world if we had an informed electorate.
The argument that America is only in the Middle East because of Israel is not just wrong. It is historically illiterate and anyone parroting it just wants to revise history.
America’s strategic interest in the Middle East predates the modern state of Israel. Franklin Roosevelt met with Saudi Arabia in 1945, three years before Israel existed, to establish America’s relationship with Gulf oil.
The Truman Doctrine, the Eisenhower Doctrine, the Carter Doctrine, all of them were built around one thing: keeping Soviet hands off Middle Eastern oil and keeping the global energy supply out of hostile control.
This was always about oil and geography.
The Middle East sits at the intersection of three continents and controls the energy supply of the entire industrialized world. America would have a vital strategic interest in that region if Israel had never existed at all.
The 1953 Iran coup was about British oil interests and Soviet encroachment. Not Israel.
The 1958 Lebanon intervention was about Arab nationalism and Soviet influence. Not Israel.
The tanker wars of the 1980s were about keeping oil flowing through the Strait of Hormuz during the Iran-Iraq war. Not Israel.
The 1991 Gulf War was about Saddam Hussein invading Kuwait and threatening Saudi Arabia. Not Israel.
In fact Israel stayed out of it entirely at American request even after Saddam fired Scud missiles at Tel Aviv.
America fought that war to protect Arab oil states, not Israel.
The 2001 Afghanistan invasion was a direct response to September 11th, which was planned in Afghanistan by a Saudi national running an organization funded by Gulf money with ideology rooted in Egyptian and Saudi Wahhabism. Not Israel.
The 2003 Iraq invasion, whatever you think of it, was about weapons of mass destruction claims, regional dominance, and finishing what 1991 started. Not Israel.
And now Iran.
America’s conflict with Iran began in 1979 when the Islamic Revolution took 52 American diplomats hostage for 444 days. Before Israel had anything to do with it. Iran has killed over 500 American soldiers through proxies in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Iran plotted to assassinate a Saudi ambassador on American soil.
Iran directed attacks on American embassies and bases across the region for decades.
Iran was months from a nuclear weapon that its leadership had explicitly said it would use to threaten America’s allies and eventually America itself.
Every single one of those is an American interest and an American reason to act that has nothing to do with Israel.
The argument that Israel is why America is in the Middle East is based on nothing.
America was in the Middle East before Israel existed, stayed in the Middle East for reasons entirely independent of Israel, and has fought its bloodiest Middle Eastern conflicts against enemies who were America’s enemies first and Israel’s enemies second.
Israel is not why America is in the Middle East. Oil, geography, Soviet containment, terrorism, nuclear proliferation, and 47 years of Iranian aggression directed specifically at the United States are why America is in the Middle East.
Now I have heard a lot of people criticize this war, a lot of lazy people who refuse to actually engage with the history and what’s going on in that region. So let me ask them this; what was Donald Trump supposed to do? Was he supposed to let them enrich, or are you going to be a child and pretend like they were not enriching uranium to get to a nuclear weapon because some podcaster told you so?
What is the specific path forward when it comes to a relationship with Israel? What specifically would people like to see happen? How is that going to secure our national interest in that region? And how are we going to deal with Iran and their seven terrorist proxies that attack American bases?
I want actual answers to those questions, not a bunch of lunatics running around screaming Neocon.
Rubio has been saying this since the beginning. So has Trump and other administration officials including SECWAR. But I guess from now on we need to dumb it down even more for the clinically retarded electorate by sending Senators to pothead podcasts. We have officially become an Idiocracy.

One of Trump’s mistakes was with messaging. He should have gotten someone like Kennedy or Rubio with stature and clarity to have made this case.
Thanks again, “principled conservatives”.
I got an email this morning that exposes just how dirty this next wave of political revenge from the Left is going to get.
@A1Policy just put out an 8-page readiness plan. If you are a charity, a 501(c)(3), a business owner, or a donor who ever supported a Republican or the party itself, YOU are in the crosshairs.
They are warning you to retain outside legal counsel RIGHT NOW. Check your insurance policies. Prepare for incoming subpoenas. Don’t wait for a letter to arrive because the records requests have already started.
This is all meant to intimidate the next generation of voters. They want to bankrupt you so that anyone in their teens or twenties watching right now is too terrified to ever stand up for conservative principles.
And they’ll just call it “oversight.”

Here’s what exit polling says:
1. About 40% named the economy as the country’s top issue. Approximately two-thirds believed his policies increased inflation. Around 90% called living costs a major or crucial voting factor; approximately 60% of that group voted Democratic. That’s a verdict rendered on tariffs. I’m not arguing about the pros or cons of tariffs right now. What I am saying is that this is a staple of the post-liberal project, and it’s very telling that none of them are mentioning it as one of the factors for why we lost.
2. Iran hurt, but it ranked below living costs.
3. Catholics moved toward Democrats; white evangelicals largely retained their Republican preference. Catholics, approximately 20% of voters, split nearly evenly after favoring Republicans by about 60–39 in 2024. Roughly 82% of white evangelical voters remained Republican. Their reported share of the electorate fell from 23% to 17%. Religiously unaffiliated voters were 27% of the electorate, with approximately 77% voting Democratic. Of course we can’t measure the effect that Tucker had on religious voters, but I can’t imagine a world in which he did not contribute to those numbers, which, when taken together, represent a 16 point swing.

President Trump is the most transformative political leader in American History — and he has single-handedly saved America from those who would destroy it.
It has been the privilege of my lifetime to have served on his team from Day One, and I am honored beyond words to serve as his White House Chief of Staff.
I want to thank the incomparable Susie Wiles for her years of devoted service to the President and the Country, and for her friendship.
The mission now is more clear than ever: Fight with all of our soul to support our President and defend this magnificent Republic.
Anyone telling you the only reason Democrats won the midterms is because they cheated is lying to you.
Anyone telling you this is the end of the world is also lying to you. For Democrats, Trump winning in 2024 was the end of the world too, but it obviously wasn’t. Don’t fall for it.
These narratives are the reason America is so divided. They’re the reason common sense lost at the ballot box too. The sooner you stop listening to the talking points of lying children who hate you, the sooner we can course correct.
Please take the time you need to reflect on what’s actually happening instead of chasing excuses and catastrophizing. That drama is the disease slowly eating away at the bones of this country.
I’m going to help. Lots of people are. Not all of us are willing to resign ourselves to civil war, the fall of western civilization, or heartless authoritarian socialist hell. We have work to do, and we’re going to do it. That’s it. No different than any other time or any other day.

🔻REPUBLICANS STAYED HOME.
🔻DEMOCRATS DIDN’T.
Iowa Senate:
🔵Dems ~97% of Harris’s 2024 votes.
🔴GOP only ~68% of Trump’s.
→ Democrat flips the seat.
Kansas Senate:
🔵Dems ~103% of Harris’s 2024 votes.
🔴GOP only ~67% of Trump’s.
→ First Dem Senator from Kansas since 1932.
Red states lost because too many conservatives sat out the midterms.

We don’t need wild conspiracy theories to understand what happened on Tuesday. The answer is in the data. And that data is going to get bigger and deeper over the coming weeks and will reveal more and more about the election. The data in this graph is from a 50-state survey of 110k+ registered voters. It answers the question of where the Blue Wave came from.
A huge group of people who did not vote in 2024 (because they weren't politically interested, disliked their options, were too young, whatever) showed up in large numbers to oppose the current thing. They broke hard for Dems.
Their #1 issue was the economy; they blamed the party in power for it and voted for change.
Reactionary takes that attribute the Blue Wave to widespread fraud without providing evidence of that fraud do not help you or anyone else. In truth, they harm you and harm others by substituting denial and delusion where sobering reality should sit.
Got evidence of election fraud? Not speculation, not inferences—evidence.
If you have actual evidence of fraud, then:
1) Share it with the proper authorities immediately.
2) I’ll take a look at it.
But I want evidence, not unsupported conspiracy theory.
If conspiracy theories and wild inferences are what you want to go by, fine. I want more than that.
If you like the delusions and denials and the fantasies about what just happened, fine. You do you. I’ll be over here in the evidence-based world wishing you would join me.
Because it is here in the evidence-based world where we can discern what happened, why, and how to take back the seats we lost. It’s going to take years, maybe more than a decade, to undo the losses. Living in denial over what just happened won’t speed up that recovery.

Look, I told you immediately in 2020 that they stole it. The dots were easy to connect.
So trust me when I say: there was not outcome-changing fraud this cycle.
I'd tell you.
@RealSKeshel, who knows the numbers, would tell you.
You're under pricing the stupidity of voters.
Of all the great achievements of the Trump era, the greatest will be Iran. It will have global positive impact for generations. But only if we finish it. It’s likely that we won’t. So thank you once again to the lazy “principled conservatives” who sat at home.
I hate you.
All the people saying that we need to pull out of Iran (first of all we aren’t IN Iran but I digress) are going to give away American foreign influence for the rest of this century.
Iran isn’t the reason we lost the elections.

Here's another truth.
As far as I can tell, the majority of the Administration is just interested in fighting over who defines the Republican party after Trump and seizing the narrative ground post-midterms. A lot of behind-the-scenes infighting is about this.
All the while Democrats are hellbent on "structural reform" and "accountability" which is a nice way of saying they intend to tear down our Republic and jail us.
Republicans need to wake up. There will be no Republican party left to lead if you are fighting each other over who inherits it, while the Democrats dismantle our country. Start defending our nation instead. Stop the coup.
