People keep saying yo me: “No, but you have to agree that xyz.” And I gotta cool as a fucking cucumber repeat “Well, like I just said, I kinda don’t, actually.”

Highly recommend Moser’s new book. Given the disappointments of many authors these past three years, very glad and relieved not to be disappointed
"There is NO Diet Coke Version of Zionism"
In this episode of Palestine Deep Dive, Irish journalist and commentator Barry Malone and American writer Benjamin Moser, author of Anti-Zionism: A Jewish History, join host Ahmed Alnaouq for a wide-ranging discussion on Zionism, anti-Zionism, media complicity and the language shaping public debate around Israel and Palestine.
Drawing on the history of Jewish opposition to Zionism, the conversation explores Britain’s role in the Zionist movement, the politics of antisemitism and the silencing of dissent. They also examine the Green Party’s recent adoption of its “Zionism is Racism” motion and the debate it has sparked.
With Israeli elections bringing renewed attention to Benjamin Netanyahu, the discussion also addresses whether a change of prime minister would address the deeper questions of Palestinian self-determination and equal rights

🇨🇦 They wanted her to abort the baby because he wasn’t “perfect.” When she refused, they took her to court. They PRESSURED HER AND SUED HER.
In Canada, where only so-called “altruistic” surrogacy is legal, a surrogate reportedly refused to abort a baby with a cleft lip and possible other health problems.
“They didn’t get the perfect child they wanted and they threw me away.”
This is what happens when children are treated as products and women as incubators.
Tell me again what makes this “altruistic.”

I just read this piece 4 times. There isn’t a shred of evidence showing Iran did it. I know Iran’s transnational repression very well. Shooting into empty synagogues in the middle of the night, ain’t it. Headline belies the article. I can’t believe this would pass muster.

How did Hollywood convince so many people that hooded eyes are a flaw?
Blepharoplasty is becoming one of the most talked-about cosmetic procedures right now, and people are convinced celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence have had it done.

Secretly paying criminals to shoot up Synagogs in Canada is of no conceivable strategic value to Iran, which had no history of engaging in such shenanigans, but of obvious value to Israel, which has a history of engaging in such false flag attacks. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lavon_…
Today CBC published an article with the headline: “Why a spate of gun-for-hire shootings in Toronto were likely paid for by Iran.”
I was intrigued, as there has been almost 0 evidence offered for this claim thus far.
Unfortunately this article doesn’t offer any either, adding nothing new. CBC says they spent weeks on the investigation, so these are pretty pitiful results, at least in terms of finding evidence of who paid for the shootings.
I’m not sure why they feel comfortable with such a declarative headline given the lack of evidence (other than journalistic standards going out the window when the subject is an Official Enemy country).
Also, CBC and other journalists continue platforming police claims that they need backdoor access to messaging apps to solve these shootings, with no push back or critique about how these powers can be abused, including against journalists.

Thank you to @macklemore for creating a moment in which the city of Dublin could focus its love, solidarity and spirit of witness for the Palestinian people and their experience. I have today written to the Charity Commission to complain about the activities of Westminster Synagogue which appears to have broken charity law by hosting fundraising campaigns for the 'Israel' occupation forces on its website.
The letter was supported by a four page briefing containing all the evidence assembled by Public Interest Investigations. The covering letter is below. A review of the evidence is in my recent article for @mintpressnews. The link is in the replies below.

Great tips from Brazil on how they turned things around for Lula online and offline:
1. Don’t ever engage, block far-right accounts immediately.
2. Don't debunk, focus on making new content on your platform.
3. Use all the tools at your disposal.
4. Be equally online and offline.
