Oh my, another idiot take that just won’t die. The Europeans are not funding Russia’s war. They started from a deep structural dependency on Russian energy and have made tremendous — and fast — progress on decoupling. This isn’t something you just turn off overnight. And they still contribute far more to Ukraine in aid anyway. In contrast, the US is not even remotely dependent on Russian fossil fuels and yet the Kremlin asset in the White House is easing sanctions anyway while completely shutting off aid. Contrary to the braindead takes of Trump apologists, the hypocrisy runs squarely through Washington, not Brussels.
In case you were wondering who was funding Russia's war on Ukraine, the EU is the number 1 purchaser of Russia's liquid natural gas and pipeline gas products through September 2026.energyandcleanair.org/august…

Applebaum: Zelenskyy is more popular in the US than Trump himself. Trump made his hard switch on Ukraine a couple of weeks before the US midterms. Putin's support in the United States is in single digits. Why Trump chose this moment is still mysterious. 1/

Alex Pretti's father: Our son was shot and killed by the government, federal immigration agents, on January 24th, 2026. We learned about his death from the media as we saw him being shot repeatedly in the back after helping a woman from his community. This was not a protest that Alex was at. His hands were in the air, and his face was on the ground when he was executed by ICE agents. We know exactly what our eyes saw. No one from the federal government called us on that day. But they did go on TV to tell lies about Alex. No one has called us since. No one has recanted those lies.

Netanyahu is warning that Arab citizens of Israel are “racing to the ballots.” That’s called Democracy 101. Elections are a source of Israel’s strength — and help make it unique in the region. Arab citizens make up 20% of Israel. They have every right to vote. Netanyahu has built his career dividing Israelis instead of bringing them together. Today’s historically high turnout is something to celebrate. That’s democracy in action. reuters.com/world/middle-eas…

After Elon Musk posted on X saying he had throttled Ukraine’s use of Starlink after it was used for offensive attacks, House Armed Services Committee member Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO) says the billionaire’s ability to wield that power is “beyond disturbing to me.” “It cannot and should not be the case that a tech oligarch, a private citizen, who has that much control over our national security, who is unaccountable, who is unelected, with zero transparency, is making life and death decisions on the battlefield in systems that our service members and our partners and allies rely upon,” he adds.

US energy company execs have resigned in disgust as the Trump family is caught secretly expediting the funneling of $25 billion from a sanctioned Russian energy giant in exchange for allowing Russians to obtain a natural gas project in Alaska. According to investigations by The New York Times and Financial Times, Russia's Novatek allegedly concealed its financial involvement in the American project through a UAE-linked intermediary. Gentry Beach, a longtime Trump ally and close friend of Donald Trump Jr., signed an agreement with Novatek to pursue natural gas development in Alaska. Reuters documented the arrangement in February. Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin discussed this cooperation on the Alaska energy project with Trump's representatives, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, during negotiations involving Russia and Ukraine. The controversy deepened when Polar Train LNG's CEO, Joel Riddle, raised concerns about concealed Russian financing and possible sanctions violations. He departed in September, followed by other senior executives. The Financial Times also described discussions about a potential arrangement under which Novatek would provide technology for the Alaska project in exchange for sanctions relief benefiting its Arctic LNG 2 development in Siberia. According to The New York Times, Riddle and two other departing executives warned the Trump administration about the Russian financing and urged officials to investigate. The White House maintains that the project was mentioned only briefly and that no detailed discussions took place. There is no established evidence that Kushner or Witkoff knew about the allegedly concealed financing. Polar Train LNG denies wrongdoing. The central question is how a sanctioned Russian energy company became involved in a major American energy venture while Putin was discussing potential economic cooperation with Trump's representatives and a longtime Trump family associate was pursuing a separate agreement with the same Russian company. Selling Alaska to the Russians or selling Ukraine to the Russians - to the Trump family it's all the same. ft.com/content/e9cfbfbb-e65a…

"I want to be a senator for every Texan who can't afford one." Hell of a line from @jamestalarico in the rally clip below, commenting on the mind-blowing sum of special interest money being spent on behalf of Ken Paxton, led Elon's more than $150 million.
Talarico: This election is a battle between the powers that be and the powers that ought to be. The powers that be have chosen their candidate. They have bought and paid for Ken Paxton.  But we are standing with the powers that ought to be the teachers and the nurses, the farmers and the ranchers. The grandmother who is facing eviction, the little boy who's waking up in the middle of the night from the lights of the data center, the small business owner, who is struggling to keep his family restaurant open. Those Texans are my team.  They are why I'm in this race. I want to be a senator for every Texan who can't afford one. You want to know why they are spending $200 million against me? Because I don't take their money, and I never will. I don't work for them. I work for you

No, @elonmusk, the U.S. stopped funding Ukraine last year. In fact, U.S. companies make money on American weapons for which we Europeans pay. The more you meddle in our politics and the more you play politics with your products, the more you damage your brand.
Replying to @elonmusk
And some of that US taxpayer money comes back through multiple laundry machines to fund political campaigns in America, which is why you see some politicians caring more about Ukraine than America!
