JUST IN: Johannesburg, South Africa, is reportedly on the brink of a "total collapse" of its water system as worsening shortages leave residents without running water for weeks.

In a sane political environment, Peltola would have already dropped out already. Her former campaign manager and long-term aide admitted they intentionally planned to deceive voters by recruiting fake candidates to run and Peltola was aware of the scheme.

Social Media did to girls what they said violent video games were going to do to boys.
We are not going to tolerate threats to assassinate the president. Allison Albro, 21, Daytona Beach, is learning that the hard way. She posted this last night and got a visit from the @VolusiaSheriff Domestic Security Unit and the @SecretService. She said she was joking with this post, she doesn’t have access to a Glock or any other weapon, and she would never hurt anyone. Today she’s sitting in jail on charges of written threats to kill and unlawful use of a communications device. I would strongly advise anyone else thinking of posting a “joke” along these lines to think twice. VSO continues to work hand in hand with the Secret Service, FBI and all our law enforcement partners to ensure this presidential visit to Daytona Beach is a safe event for all who attend, and for our whole community.

Pete Hegseth was accused of being a Nazi for having a Jerusalem Cross tattoo, but you’re not allowed to say that Abdul El-Sayed is an Islamist when his own family said they’re part of the Muslim Brotherhood. Weird.

Yo agradezco a quien empaqueta Chromium en Fedora porque es un trabajo que nadie debe hacer gratis, y me evita tener que instalar el spyware llamado Chrome. Tiene un proceso de build infernal, hasta clang precompiilados se baja.

Reminder that when they offered the role of the poop emoji in the emoji movie to Jordan Peele, he took it as an insult and thought it was beneath him and it led to him quitting acting, so they were like "fine, we will offer it to Sir Patrick Stewart," and he gladly took the role and made jokes about how it was one of the most important roles of his career. RIP to a real one.

Samsung taking their marketing in this direction might seem petty or immature, but I think that if Apple showed a little less arrogance in the launch phase, didn't pay for interviews with magazines, boastfully call previous foldables cheap & crappy, and talk on stage about poor app optimisations...then maybe other brands would respond with more class. Apple launched their first foldable with zero humility, and it's coming back to bite them.
I can understand why Samsung might be feeling the pressure from the iPhone Duo, arguably its biggest competitor ever. But I think a global tech giant like Samsung should show a little more class. There's really no need to mock a competitor or take pleasure in its product issues. After all, what goes around comes around. The company you're laughing at today could be laughing at you tomorrow. And let's be real, Samsung itself has had its fair share of quality control issues over the years. No smartphone manufacturer is immune to mistakes. Sometimes, the jokes you make today can come back to haunt you tomorrow.@SamsungCanada

See the last point here: xitter.gq/aghamilton29/status/21… Much of the substantive evidence that the marriage was fraudulent and part of an immigration scheme has been publicly available for a long time. Many people/media just chose to ignore it and attack anyone who brought it up.

Former Apple App Review chief on Apple’s recent banning of developer accounts with long histories of being in good standing. The App Store needs competition, worldwide! Why does Apple block competing stores in the US, Canada, Korea, and China?
If you have an Apple developer account or an app in the App Store, read this now and share it. Apple rejects your app. The notice is vague, so you fix what you reasonably think is wrong and resubmit. Apple approves it. Months later, with nothing in review, Apple terminates your account under 3.2(f) for “a pattern of manipulative or misleading behavior.” Every app gone. No explanation of what you did. Your crime? Trusting the approval. Apple’s own reviewer looked at your fix, with your rejection history in front of them, and said yes. Then Apple turned that yes into evidence against you. So who’s misleading whom? I ran App Review for seven years and wrote the guidelines. 3.2(f) used to mean real fraud. Now it’s being used against developers who did exactly what Apple approved. I’ve made this Substack post free for everyone. Every developer needs to see it before this happens to them. Share it before someone you know gets that email. phillipshoemaker.substack.co…

Can you imagine Dell PCs only being allowed to buy software from whatever Dell chooses to sell? Why do we allow different rules for marketplaces between a PC and a phone? Doesn’t competition sharpen the market in favor of consumers in all instances?
