Did he forget about the songs? It's kind of crazy that Aonuma attempted to shove in non-traditional Fast Travel in a game he was a part of over 28 years ago. To be fair Aonuma was only 1 of the 5 directors on the game, dungeons mainly. Thankful the devs pushed back on this.
Ocarina of Time remake nearly had fast travel, but Nintendo removed it.
Eiji Aonuma revealed that he asked devs to add fast-travel similar to Breath of the Wild, so players could move around Hyrule more quickly.
But after trying it out, the team realised that fast travel made players miss small discoveries and interesting things along the way.
“We were missing out on the moments of discovery that came from stopping along the way and wondering, ‘Wait, what’s this?’”
He removed the feature because on-foot exploration is key to the original experience.
I can't think of a more misguided choice to be handed the IP. To make a movie that is in name-only, Resident Evil. Obtuse defenses may suggest "because it doesn't ruin the characters it's good", when even dropping the references, it is still stuck with the same core issues.
Zach Cregger says he was frustrated that the conversation surrounding his ‘RESIDENT EVIL’ film had nothing to do with the film.
“It had to do with whether the movie was living up to the different standards that different fans of the games had… it was just a lot about ‘why isn’t this like the source material?’ OR ‘why is it good that it’s not like the source material?’
