Right in the middle of Chicago, deep inside Cubs territory, there is a Wisconsin tavern called Will's Northwoods Inn. During the World Series, the street outside is Illinois, but the room inside is sovereign Wisconsin soil. Brewers fans pack the bar shoulder to shoulder. They call it watching the war from behind enemy lines. In old Japan, a clan enclave inside a rival lord's province was guarded like a fortress. You needed an official wooden pass just to cross the gate. At Will's, you do not need papers to cross the border. You just walk through the door in Brewers blue, and the bartender slides a basket of hot fried Wisconsin cheese curds across the wood. That is your passport. It might be the only embassy on Earth with a deep fryer. Diplomatic relations are strong.

despite the unfortunate timing, we take disclosures seriously at @typesafeai at approximately 6:49PM this Friday evening, we became aware of a massive unauthorized leak of ALL customer noul outputs in effort to maximize transparency, here is the link: gist.github.com/diogo149/810…

Update: I went to the store, this was the correct take. Apple should make a folding iPad mini _and_ sell it for less.
Want to see it in-person, but already feeling like this is a reasonable take.

As a general device: I’m incredibly divided on this. @gruber got it right, the inside is gorgeous, the outside is silly.

I watched the iPhone Duo reviews and I think what I really want is an iPad Mini that folds. No outer display. No camera bump. Maybe I want it to run Omarchy.

So basically, today PHP got two critical bugs that let anyone run code on your server without even logging in, which is bad, and then the details leaked before the patch was even out, which is worse, and it works on WordPress and MediaWiki and Magento and Joomla and Laravel, and Censys says like 1.5 million servers are running a version with no fix, so the NSA was like "take your system offline," and the FBI was like "take your system offline," and CISA and the UK and CERT-EU were all like "take your system offline," and then the Prime Minister of Japan, the actual Prime Minister, posted at 5:55 in the morning telling 48.8 million people to take their system offline, so everyone took their system offline, like the Dutch cybersecurity agency took its own website offline, and the Dutch parliament went offline, and the Port of Rotterdam went offline, and Finland and France and Denmark started pulling government sites, and Wikipedia went down, and Archive.org went down, and Asana and GOG and Something Awful went down, and the University of Vienna's webmail went down for some reason, and that's just PHP. Because GitLab also dropped a CVSS 10.0, which is the highest score they give out, for a bug that's been there since 2014, so that's every self-hosted GitLab for twelve years, and then LiteLLM 1.107.0 got hijacked and shipped a credential stealer and a remote access trojan in every single wheel and the Docker images, including latest, and you didn't even have to import it, just installing it was enough, and it's the second time this year, and then Railway paused every deployment on the entire platform because someone got into the environment variables, so now everyone has to rotate every secret they've ever stored there, and TiDB Cloud said someone was walking around inside with stolen credentials for basically a month and an extortion group says they took 10.6 terabytes, and Zeabur got breached for the second time in two months and is just shutting down, like the whole company, and Node.js patched remote code execution and a TLS bypass, and CISA says Plex is being actively exploited, and someone took over 300 Tor exit relays to steal SSH passwords, and SafePay ransomware has hit over 600 critical infrastructure orgs, and India's biggest bank filed a data loss incident, and Japan has been in an official state of emergency in cyberspace since October 9, which honestly explains the 5:55 AM post. Oh, and eMudhra, a certificate authority that's issued over 60 million certificates, whose entire job is proving websites are who they say they are, was supposed to be using private keys that are random numbers over a hundred digits long, and one of them was 4. Just 4. And the others were like 66 and 237. Anyway, it's Wednesday.

Wait so we’re the Protoss though, right?
What a day… The future of cybersecurity is swarms. Swarms of agents attacking and swarms of agents defending. Or rather, fleets vs. swarms: Governed agents on defense, vs cheap and relentless agents on offense. Whoever coordinates faster wins.

the same thing that has always been true of engineering is still true. Slow down, prioritize well, do less in parallel, elevate getting things #1/2 done over maximizing utilization of your overall attention (even if it means some downtime for you)
I think most people multi-tasking with agents could benefit from slowing down most of the stuff you're doing wont really matter- what's your P0? what would it look like if you gave it your full attention?

This was even better than the debate response.
U.S. Senate candidate @TroyJackson207 (D-ME) on criticism to "Can't Eat Road Salt" debate comment regarding tariff impacts: "I'm not mocking the fact that she got one thing or two things off the list, I'm mocking the fact that there shouldn't have been a list to begin with."

Introducing the Tesla Shuttle, a concept by yours truly (an average dad who desperately wants this). There aren't enough options for quality minivans anymore. We actually need this.

The thing I learned this year is that when engineers say they like working on “hard problems”, they actually don't. What they like is puzzle solving, and having a repertoire of patterns that they can pattern match onto traditionally hard problems, usually involving databases or something with scale, etc. And they know that the industry used to pay you a lot for how deep and broad this repertoire was. Unfortunately, in 2026, well, you have a cheat code machine that has infinite breadth and depth for pattern matching. So the question is, do you actually like hard problems? Because there are now hard problems that are a complection of engineering, product, society, culture, politics, and they are fairly intractable, probably unsolvable! Because if you do want to work on those actually hard problems, there is so much money that people will pay you for it. But you’ll have to face that truth about yourself first.
