By next year, Omarchy could become the number 1 Linux distro. It's growing like crazy currently! Feels like the early Ubuntu days back then (yes, I was there!)

Stop wasting your time with building. If you never do marketing.

It’s an echo chamber. Same crowd that used to shout “x language is now dead use y language”

Everyone loves to declare something dead when the game changes just a little.
I've been scrolling through X for 20 minutes. SaaS is dead. Junior developers are dead. SEO is dead. Organic reach is dead. Apparently, the only thing growing is everyone's personal brand.

Lmao right?! Meanwhile most people on the planet have never used AI and people are still buying sass products. The game just changed a bit that’s all. I wouldn’t always listen to the tech fyp…

Anyone else feeling like your agent being lazy completing a turn, is the AI equivalent of “are you still watching Netflix?”

Real businesses are created when the work get boring and the grind gets long. That’s when most people quit.

Fuck it. Who cares if someone else is doing it already? create something you love and want to see. Maybe you’ll do it better maybe you won’t, either way you learn something.

You just solved something that confused you yesterday. Explain it while you still remember where you got stuck. You can help another beginner without pretending to be an expert.

Distribution is always king doesn’t matter how good your product is someone with a platform and enthusiasm for their brand will almost always win over the products merits alone.

Dude, can we please stop publishing vulns before they are disclosed to the vendor!?!?!?!??!
‼️ Researcher Erica Windisch skipped coordinated vulnerability disclosure and published 11 unpatched Tailscale flaws. In her lab, Tailscale SSH race conditions let one hacked device get root on other servers and add a rogue node.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The Tailscale SSH findings require prior authorized access on the tailnet per the researcher's report; Tailscale stated issues concern post-authorization behavior only and did not recommend disabling SSH for everyone. tailworm.com x.com/IntCyberDigest…

Amazing endorsement of X. This really is where you'll find the most optimistic, forward-looking people in tech.
The poll so far between Twitter, Bluesky and Mastodon. I think it looks less absurd than last time, but still pretty clear that the base is divided. xitter.cf/mitsuhiko/status/21143…

Yes!! been saying that. 40 bucks a month or even 100 a month that saves you hours of maintaining a week is always worth. Same reason everyone bought saas to begin with, it saved time and effort and now it saves tokens too.

It’s not exactly 29 and never pay again. It’s 29 and then you get to host it and maintain it which all have a cost. So is the amount of management you have to do worth 40/mo to you. If they ever turn off llm subscriptions then it becomes exponentially more expensive.
databull is the perfect example of what i keep seeing: indie hackers don't buy software. they rebuild it. someone was paying $39/mo for an analytics tool. instead of paying, they cloned it and sold it for $29 lifetime. to the same crowd. who will also never pay monthly. i pulled 7,800+ startups with verified revenue and split them by who they sell to: - tools sold to indie hackers and founders: 74.5% make $0 a month. - tools sold to small businesses and b2b teams: 60.5% make $0. - only 4.5% of indie hacker tools ever reach $1k mrr. b2b tools reach it 2.5x as often. - average mrr: about $530 selling to indie hackers vs about $1,870 selling to businesses. that's 3.5x. why it keeps happening: - they can build it themselves. every tool you sell them is a weekend project they're sure they could ship. - they wait for the lifetime deal. monthly pricing is something they complain about, not something they pay. - they're broke on purpose. most are pre-revenue and cutting costs, not buying tools. - they're your competitors. your best customer today launches your clone next month. when you zoom out, selling to indie hackers fails in one of three ways. they rebuild you, they wait you out for a lifetime deal, or they never had the budget in the first place!

Meh always someone who will pay for what they could have got for free. There have been free alternatives to massively used softwares for decades. People will pay for trust, and for niche uses, or just so they don’t have to think about it or deal with managing it themselves.
If you‘re target customers are indie hackers, you may wanna build something for plumbers instead. Marc Lou just got Marc lou‘d

Hi everyone. I wanted to introduce you all to the ODK ("Omarchy Development Kit"). This is a project that provides the foundational work for building high quality, consistent and beautiful applications for Omarchy. It is based on Rust and GPUI, moving away from Quickshell, and besides just having apps built in Rust, the ODK also introduces a runtime service that can understand app archives similar to the MacOS `.app` - but in our case of course, `.oma` - this means that a directory becomes "executable" and automatically sandboxed under a least privilege permissions model. Please check out the video. I recorded this super quick, so the production value is low. I am not a content guy!
