Ear cropping is cruel. It is illegal and it is happening here. Not imports. Not rescues. Here, in the UK.

The weekend schedule was incredibly exhausting. Today's schedule has been mostly napping and eating. And occasionally checking the human for drool.

In a few days these black cabbies will be transporting veterans from various stations across London to the Cenotaph.
So today is a shout out for them.

Our Patron @SirRogerGale spoke in tonight’s Westminster Hall debate in support of a compassionate change to the law: requiring drivers to stop and report collisions with cats, ensuring injured animals receive help and owners are not left in distress and uncertainty. Cats are recognised as family members by millions of households, yet current legislation does not require any action when a cat is struck by a vehicle

Look at this lovely lad🥰
🦸♂️🐾Not All Super Heros Wear Capes🐾🦸♂️
Meet Llew, a gorgeous 8 year old German Shepherd with a stunning tan & liver-coloured coat
🩸🏥Llew has already done something truly special during his time with us. He donated blood to help save another much-loved dog who needed an urgent transfusion at our Vets. What an incredible thing to do! Llew really has been a lifesaver & now it's his turn to find someone who will make him feel just as special🏥🩸
🐶This big lad is past the puppy antics & has a lovely, chilled-out nature
🐶He's a handsome, mature gentleman who deserves a family to call his own
🏡We're hoping there's a home out there for Llew, where he can enjoy his golden years surrounded by comfort, kindness & affection & have lots of cosy spots to rest his paws on after a day spent loving life
🏡Llew would love nothing more than a home where he can relax, enjoy life's little pleasures & be loved for the wonderful boy he is
🏡If you're looking for a loyal companion with a lovely, laid-back nature, Llew could be just the boy you've been waiting for
He's already helped give another dog a second chance, now we'd love to see him get his own happy ending

Sometimes, all it takes is a little love to bring someone back to life❤️
When we first rescued Polly, she was hidden beneath severely matted fur and covered in hundreds of ticks, but now her fur is growing back beautifully, her little personality is shining through, and she couldn't be happier🥰
And now, Polly is ready for the next chapter of her life! She's officially looking for a forever home in Thailand🇹🇭
If you want to know more about Polly, you can head to the Adoptable Dogs page on our website or click here happydoggo.com/adoptable-dog…

The @DefraGovUK Minister @StephenMorganMP has announced new plans to end carbon dioxide stunning of pigs to prevent suffering. ‘High concentration carbon dioxide is widely used to stun pigs in British slaughterhouses, but independent evidence has highlighted serious concerns about the suffering it causes animals. The government has now put forward proposals to replace the practice with more humane alternatives, such as argon gas and automated electrical stunning. Both methods are proven to substantially reduce animal suffering’

Halloween artificial cobweb material:
It may be a bit of fake fun for you, but it's a very real and terrifying death for them.
And it's not only birds.
Last year I had my first call of the season of a hedgehog trapped in this horrific fake 'cobweb', made especially for gullible halloweeners to spread over their greenery, trapping all unsuspecting birds, insects and mammals, including hedgehogs.
The fine synthetic fibers are difficult for animals to see and can quickly wrap around their legs, spines, and neck, leading to severe injuries.
When a hedgehog struggles to free herself the web tightens, cutting off circulation and causing deep wounds.
These constriction injuries often lead to permanent damage or death.
Unfortunately the call was from Manchester, so all I could do was talk them through getting the poor creature to a rescue.
Clearly she had been trapped there for at least one night, and her struggles had pulled the strong nylon strands so tightly that one of her toes had been amputated.
Can you imagine the pain and the sheer terror?
And then seeing dawn approach, while hanging there, tightly bound and helpless.
Aside from being stressed, dehydrated, starving and exhausted to the point of near death, she also had horrific bite/peck wounds to her face, where she had been held there, helpless, unable to curl and defend herself, while a predator tried to eat her alive.
If you have used this deadly cruel trap to 'decorate' your garden, please take it down now.
Please don't be conned by the greedy makers and sellers of this rubbish into hurting defenceless animals.
