I was extremely disappointed to learn that the Health Secretary has excluded Royal Berkshire Hospital from the schemes set to progress in the New Hospital Programme. I want to again call on the Health Secretary to meet with me to discuss how we can ensure the future of our NHS.

Due to a water leak into the building, we may not be able to open Tilehurst library today. We are working to get sorted and will post updates here. No books are due back and we do not charge fines. All other libraries are open as usual today. Apologies for any inconvenience.

Thames Water HQ is in our town. How will fining companies already in difficulty and planning punitive price rises *actually* reduce the sewage in our rivers? 💩
Fines are a gesture. The enforcement action is what's actually needed. And we need a regulator able to do it properly.
Today, we're proposing substantial fines totalling £168 million, in an initial outcome from our investigation into Thames Water, Yorkshire Water and Northumbrian Water on the management of their sewage treatment works. 1/

ALT Map of England and Wales highlighting the key water companies relating to today's sewage investigation update: Thames Water, Yorkshire Water and Northumbrian Water all labelled on the map. To the side, summary text reads: £168 million total penalty for failure to manage their wastewater treatment works.
