Our belief—and what I have read—is that 'regime change' means the democratic transfer of power. In other words, power changes hands through electoral politics and the ballot box within a democracy. Is this the first time this has happened? Things changed after the Emergency, power changed hands during Manmohan Singh's tenure, and it changed again in 2014. It will happen again. The transfer of power through democratic means is what they call 'regime change.' But all sorts of thoughts keep running through their minds, and they blurt out whatever comes to them. Think about it and understand the actual meaning of the term."

Because the university's name is Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar University, it causes them pain. It's a university for Muslims, it's a university where children study—can't they just leave that alone? Here, the moment BJP sees a mosque, they say, 'Tear it down!' If they see a dargah, they say, 'Tear it down! Bring in the bulldozer!' How much hatred will they spread? This is yet another example of how hatred works, because a university bearing that name hurts their eyes, and that's why all these things are happening."
