The Globe and Mail may want to mention that the poll was done by a pro immigration lobby group.
This is 100% propaganda.

Huge statement for the Toronto Star to not endorse the sitting Mayor.
When that paper has seen 3 1/2 years of Olivia Chow, & simply cannot advocate for 4 more of them - itâs quite an indictment.

Be a small town politician.
A child puts bunny ears on your photo and comments on how you dress.
So mad you report it to the police.
Cops show up at the child's house.
Causes international outrage.
Now the bunny pic is in the New York Post.
And your Google results are just rabbit ears forever.

It's been a day and a half since I responded to Environment Canada saying my questions were not answered, and that the requested data was publicly available and not connected to the investigation
I followed up again at 4.50pm yesterday asking for a statement on why weather information is being withheld.
Nothing.
This is what weâre up against trying to report on the CFB Wainwright tragedy.
On October 18, I asked Environment Canada for the original wind-warning bulletins for the region, to make sure I hadnât missed any and because several had since been archived online.
I also asked for the timestamped XML files â or directions on how to access them myself.
I wasnât asking about the fire. I wasnât asking for anything new. I was trying to retrieve historical weather warnings and records, most of which were already publicly available.
This was their response.
It took them two full working days to send this.
Let me explain reality⊠if you have but sixty seconds:
They were targeting Elon
They were targeting him with fake charges because the socialist-industrial complex is terrified that he would expose their long grift.
They came after him for the Model 3 and Elonâs claims around its potential.
That potential was realized, and it became, along with the Model Y, the best-selling electric vehicle ever created.
These were fake charges to try to stop somebody from building the best category-defining product.
Let that sink in: that's how evil these motherfuckers are.
The loooooong grift has been exposed: socialist grifters are stealing our tax dollars to fund fringe lunacy, NGOs and government programs without oversight or audits.
Theyâre parasites incapable of creating any product or service that has to compete in the open market.
Elon creates a couple of cutting-edge products each year, and half of them succeed.
Some of them actually change the world. Some of them fail brutally.
It's called capitalism. It's called creation.
This is what moves the human condition forward: trying things.
Trying really hard things.
Socialists come for the people building valuable products and services â thatâs the tell
Keep your eye out for the people who've created nothing and risked nothing, but who are attacking the people who risk everything to create Something.
That's the tell.

I have so much appreciation for the people who are relaying accounts of what happened in Wainwright out to the broader public. I have to say though, Canadian government comms culture is atrocious. There should be some kind of report from official sources. We basically got "There's been a horrible tragedy, don't speculate" from the government with very little else said a day later.
The whole country is still trying to figure out just how big of a disaster this is. Not because Canadians are morbidly hungering for infotainment, but because they are concerned about the lives lost and people hurt, and are trying to make sense of it.
The average person understands very well that the full summary of events and casualty count is not going to be available until much, much later. And that when it comes to identifying individuals injured or lost, it is no question that family notification comes first. But that does not preclude officials from providing their basic understanding of what happened, and ballpark figures when it comes to casualties. Is the number of people with life-threatening burns in the hundreds or the dozens? How about deaths? Missing?
It also seems that "something hit gas infrastructure" and "fire blew into a location on base where people were present" are two prevalent explanations coming out of the grapevine; if soldiers are talking about it in their networks, then officials are getting briefed on it, too. There doesn't need to be a scientific level of precision in the intel before going to the public; "At this time it is believed ...." does suffice, and is especially welcome if it dispels any erroneous information that's floating around.
Absent official lines of communication, all we have is what can be gleaned from Facebook comments of locals, chatter that makes its way to the public through CAF/first responder networks, eyewitness accounts from people in the area, etc. And this is how you get more rumourmongering than there otherwise would have been, which I believe is worse for a nation that is trying to appropriately mourn a tragedy. It shouldn't have to be that way.
