Weekend hack: HackerTube. I was annoyed with YouTube's recommendations so I had Claude filter down 43M comments over 20 years of HN to 6,454 videos that keep being recommended. *Significantly* better viewing experience, ~2 hours with Opus 5.5:

- Thumbnail is a representative frame from middle of the video instead of the super duper A/B test hyper-optimized user uploads

A bit more on the process:
I use Claude Code (desktop app for Mac), Opus 5.5 on Medium effort as my default. I only talk to Claude and have it do everything, the only "manual work" I helped with in tandem was in the browser (reminiscent of MenuGen): 1) I had to create some kind of API key from Google Cloud UI to query YouTube for video metadata, 2) I booted up a VPS box for serving and 3) I bought the domain name. Once the box was up I gave Claude the IP and told it update, secure, harden, deploy and optimize the code, and it did the whole thing.
Many awesome projects that would have normally taken weeks/months even can now be few-shotted for breakfast. What else are we not thinking of.

Yesterday, an anonymous black hat group reached out with an insane RL request.
They offered an astronomical amount of money to post-train open-weight models on exploit data.
The amount of attack data they claim to hold is unlike anything I have ever seen. If someone told me this was an undercover FBI dataset, I would have believed it.
For context, a white-hat project I worked on using GLM-5.3 used less than one percent of that volume, and it already outperformed frontier models by a huge margin.
Of course, I turned it down. But what genuinely scares me is knowing someone else will eventually take the deal.

I have been directly affected by the internal politics led by strategist Jhon Arockiasamy. I have raised my concerns at multiple levels within the party regarding certain strategic and structural issues.
However, every time I voiced these concerns, a particular group within the IT wing began targeting and abusing me continuously seemingly to protect him. For the past one year, coordinated efforts have been made to label me as “ADMK IT wing” simply because I questioned internal functioning.
Each time this happened, I documented and reported it within the party structure.
Now, a woman named Sushmitha has come forward with a write-up defending the strategist. In all my years of journalism, I have never witnessed a situation where a party wing openly attacks and abuses a woman just to shield a strategist from accountability.
Ironically, this same person had earlier spoken to me multiple times expressing concerns about the very same strategist and certain district-level leadership, including the Salem district secretary and team. She had even requested my help to raise those concerns internally.
It is disappointing to see how internal attacks are normalized when someone questions strategy, while those who align with certain power groups suddenly receive importance and support.
I have ignored these coordinated attacks for a long time. But going forward, I will not remain silent. I will call out targeted harassment and organized defamation wherever it happens.
Questioning strategy is not betrayal. Internal accountability is not opposition.

Follow the traditions of the land you belong to. I’m a Catholic, but even in church weddings, we tie the knot three times while westerners stick to rings. We also respect local customs and traditions, including putting up a padhakaal and following other Tamil wedding rituals, house warming and other celebrations. Our traditions are part of our cultural identity, and respecting them should bring us together, not divide us.

My salute to the Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar for his extraordinary bravery.
Despite being stabbed and seriously injured, he fought back, resisted, opened the cockpit door, and enabled passengers and crew to overpower the attacker — preventing a catastrophic mid-air disaster.
He saved the lives of 174 people, including Israeli citizens and other nationals.
I wish Captain Machchhar a speedy and full recovery.
He is a true hero.
