The reality for the Cuban people is empty shelves and government rations of six eggs a month. My husband told me how his mother would save one egg for his dad and make sure he got the other five.
She made his toys. She made his clothes from old adult clothes. They were lucky if they could get a pig once in a while. Black beans and rice was what they ate every day. If they got a chicken, they saved the meat for my husband and picked the bones for themselves.
They aren’t allowed to eat beef or lobster, those are reserved for tourists and the government. They did what they had to do to survive.
We used to order prepaid cards to reach his family, and there was only one phone per block of houses. Now they have some cell phones. In the last eight years or so, they finally got Facebook Messenger to call family.
The people are starving. Communism enslaves the people while the rulers live lavishly. Their medical care is atrocious.
This is a man who had never seen a store so full.

🚨BREAKING: Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton just announced the country’s first detransition clinic is now open at Texas Children’s Hospital following a major settlement.
The hospital must provide free multidisciplinary care for patients up to age 21 who previously received gender-transition interventions, with related services available for older patients.
Texas Children’s is funding the clinic for its first five years as part of the agreement, which also included a $10 million payment to resolve claims over Medicaid billing for those procedures and the revocation of privileges for multiple physicians.
This is the model every hospital in the country should follow. Young people subjected to irreversible medical interventions deserve real medical support to reverse the damage, not more ideology.
