Despair is psychological warfare. This is not the time to switch off your survival instincts and succumb to oppressors. Things are going to be messy for a while but a better world is possible. Deep breaths, buckle up and give yourself a chance again. You’re not alone. Get up.

Lula is not without fault but my god this is much needed good news. As the region increasingly veers to the right, with leader after leader declaring their commitment the Zion*sm, the largest Latin American country not following suit is definitely something worth celebrating.

To everyone celebrating Lula’s reelection victory, I just want us to all acknowledge Erika Hilton right here. She’s a Black trans woman who became the most voted congresswoman in Brazilian history this cycle and has been campaigning nonstop for Lula in the second round
Derrotamos a Meta. Derrotamos as bets. Derrotamos os EUA. Derrotamos a milícia. Derrotamos a Faria Lima. Derrotamos a turma do Vorcaro. Derrotamos Flávio Bolsonaro. Lula é tetra, e de virada. Isso é HISTÓRIA, e cada uma e cada um de vocês ajudou a escrever 💗

Wholeheartedly agree with this. Society just accepts showing up for every whim of married &/or parents but outside of that things are often presented as fanciful or an inconvenience. Its actually unacceptable.
as a single childless woman, you can show up for countless bridal showers, weddings, baby showers, kid's birthday parties, anniversary dinners etc. but if you want even a modicum of reciprocation suddenly it's mortifying and beyond the pale. lol ok.

on another episode of: we are not outnumbered, we are out organized.
This is so intelligent, I want to cry: The 140 seats won by the student opposition against Serbia's nationalist government party will be taken up not by students, but by academics, professors & public figures from pre-chosen pool of 250 experts, selected by student plenums.

I’m so proud of Brazil. This election literally saved the planet. Lula’s commitment to stopping deforestation of the Amazon can and will slow climate change. Not to mention the way people were mobilized. People were in canoes to go vote! The power of the people is so beautiful.

When you are unmarried & childless there is an undeniable pressure to show off other accomplishments. Like your career has to be exceptional in order to justify “choosing it over” a relationship
I think relationships give ppl social credibility that single ppl have to establish individually. Being chosen is treated as evidence that you're desirable, stable, capable of commitment, etc. So ppl outsource their sense of adulthood to someone else's willingness to be with them

I’m working on an article to explain why I believe the UK and Irish governments are telling households to stockpile water and food that doesn’t require electricity. TL;DR: I believe governments are preparing to prioritise AI data centres over their own citizens. The electricity consumption figures and government policies point to a serious problem. Both countries are preparing households for prolonged power outages while giving energy hungry AI data centres preferential treatment. Are these warnings really about extreme weather, or do governments already know their electricity grids won’t be able to cope with the expansion of AI data centres?
“Be ready by having some everyday essentials… three litres of water per person per day, tinned goods... to last a few days” Speaking to @vicderbyshire, Defence Secretary Wes Streeting details advice to households to be prepared for a “dangerous and turbulent world”. #Newsnight

I think loving a woman should give you a personal vendetta against whatever is making her life difficult
when a girl with a bf is stressed out I'm like why isn't he fixing this? it's literally his job

Heidi Levine is an Israeli. The fact that Palestinians protected her with their own bodies is a testament of how they've managed to retain their humanity in spite of 80 fucking years of these locusts doing anything in their power to destroy their lives. And yes, the squatters willing to engage in coexistence theatrics are just as bad as the club-wielding settlers. The result of their presence in Palestinian land is exactly the same: dispossession, displacement, death.
“It was like this biblical battle where the Palestinian men … went in front of me to protect … me and my rescuers from being attacked again,” Washington Post photojournalist Heidi Levine told Jake Tapper. Levine was kicked, beaten with clubs and robbed by Israeli settlers while covering Friday’s olive harvest in the occupied West Bank, leaving her with multiple broken bones. Speaking after leaving the hospital, she said Israeli soldiers charged Palestinian farmers as settlers advanced alongside them. She said that unlike her, Palestinian victims endure these attacks daily, with absolutely nowhere safe to go.

Exactly. We have companies that have unleashed malware and viruses world wide, whose CEOs should be arrested and prosecuted, who have somehow been able to change this crime into a marketing gimmick instead.
Things are moving so fast that everyone seems to have completely missed how insane it is that AI companies have been allowed to unleash agentic AI products with no regulatory guidelines.

I wish more sneaker companies appreciated criticism like the tech industry does. Marques can straight up say “this ain’t it” in his way & Apple will keep inviting him back for new launches.
MKBHD says most people should skip Apple’s $2,000 iPhone Duo after testing it for over a week He says it's 'fun to use' but its weight, weaker cameras, lack of Face ID, and poorly optimized apps are major drawbacks
