This paper is unbelievable: people suck at remembering small categories of spending, so if just you remind them of the existence of those categories, they save more. And for Zambian farmers, that means more investment and 9% more crop revenue the next year.

Rotting food waste in landfills causes 10% of global heating, five times more than the much more publicized air travel, the UN reports. This is largely because it emits methane, 86 times more powerful in warming the planet than CO2 (over a 20 year period) news.un.org/en/story/2026/10…

A new survey of college students asked whether the "world has been getting better or worse over the last 50 years" (on extreme poverty, life expectancy & literacy). Despite clear evidence to the contrary, only 38% said "better," w/ the % much lower for women than men (23%-46%).

AI should work for people in their own language and voice. The OpenAI Foundation is joining the @GatesFoundation and partners around the world to help make that possible. We’re starting with voice, building the data and infrastructure needed to make AI more useful across a broader range of languages. openaifoundation.org/news/br…

Education doesn’t just raise earnings—it can also help address climate change. Our study in The Review of Economics and Statistics finds that an additional year of education causally increases pro-climate beliefs, behaviors, policy preferences, and green voting across 20 European countries. Maharashtra has taken the first step towards gender equality in the Agriculture sector, by ensuring entitlements to “women farmers” regardless of land ownership. This will benefit millions of rural women, 80% of whom are engaged in agricultural activities. @Annapurna4BJP @ChouhanShivraj @LalanSingh_1 @CMOMaharashtra @ashoklahiribjp
This joint OpEd by the Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis and MSSRF Chairperson Dr Soumya Swaminthan offers an overview of the Maharashtra Women Farmers Empowerment Act, 2026. ➡️Read here: mssrf.org/mssrf-media It is a landmark law that gives women farmers real access to credit, loans and government schemes that were once out of reach — a major step for gender equality in agriculture. @Dev_Fadnavis @doctorsoumya @IndianExpress #womenfarmers #IYWF #YearoftheWomanFarmer

Women are underrepresented in AI labs... accounting for roughly 10–16% of the people doing core research and building the systems. We’re designing the most important technology in history, and we HAVE an overwhelmingly capable hard-working base of women across this country.

Women-owned small businesses in emerging markets repay their loans at higher rates than other small businesses, yet receive just 19% of outstanding lending by dollar volume. Nearly a decade of data makes the case. Investing in women entrepreneurs is good business. bit.ly/4bD2NtB

Leaders spend a lot of time choosing a strategy. But they often spend far less time making sure the organization is ready to act on it. McKinsey research across more than 400 companies found that this work, known as mobilization, is what separates top profit performers from those at the bottom. The best leaders challenge old assumptions, get clear on what the company will do and stop doing, and build the ability to mobilize again and again. In other words, they make execution part of the strategy from the start. Read the article to learn how to turn a good strategy into real results. s.hbr.org/4gmDmQi

For over a decade, #APCNF has been proving that agriculture can regenerate ecosystems while improving farmers' livelihoods. Built on community institutions, farmer to farmer learning, and science backed #NaturalFarming practices, the movement has empowered over a million farmers to restore soil health, reduce dependence on synthetic inputs, conserve water, enhance biodiversity, and build climate resilient farming systems. Today, with the #APCNF model inspiring adaptation in more than 50 countries, its journey has drawn global attention. In a recent in depth article, "APCNF won the @FoodPlanetPrize. Can it now scale across India?", @venkinesis explores the evolution, impact, and scaling potential of APCNF, describing it as a model that demonstrates how agriculture can nourish both people and the planet. The article reflects on APCNF's recognition as the recipient of the 2026 Food Planet Prize, the world's largest environmental award, validating the collective efforts of farmers, women's Self Help Groups, community resource persons, and partners who have made regenerative agriculture a reality at scale. krishidotsystem.com/p/apcnf-… @vijaythallam @AndhraPradeshCM @ap_agriculture @rajbudithi65 @NITIAayog @icarindia @agrigoi @EATforum @circulareconomy @annalappe @satyatripathi @PavanSukhdev #FarmerFirst #Agroecology #ClimateResilience #SoilHealth #FarmersFeedTheWorld

Dr. Gladys West, the Black mathematician whose brilliance made GPS possible, has passed at 95. Born on a Dinwiddie County farm during the Great Depression, she overcame segregation to become a scientist and map the world—literally. May we never forget her legacy or the path she paved for generations of mathematicians.
