Exciting news from @GlobalFund with Mark Dybul’s appointment to reprise a role he previously excelled at there: Executive Director. The challenges are no less challenging but I am convinced he can navigate the political and financial shoals. theglobalfund.org/en/news/20…

Jon Ossoff: "While the crook president and his crook family rake in billions from all over the world, you pay more for everything. They doubled your insurance premiums and slashed Medicaid to cut taxes for the rich. They lied us into war and spent most of the last year covering up for the world's most famous pedophile."

Think the environment and your health don’t intersect? Think again! Local climate change has a direct impact on personal health. Salt leeching into freshwater sources or increase in growth seasons invreasing the rodent population is not always newsworthy, but are important

One Health approach to tackling climate change and infectious disease as shown by the @TheLancet Commission connects environmental crises to health crises, how negative changes will not always make the news, but are still harmful to health b/c of climate change

“Aftershocks” chronicles a year and months of trauma endured by the public health community and aftershocks that have reverberated around the world affecting all our lives.
For an article published today in @pozmagazine’s new issue, I was asked why I wrote “Aftershocks: Trump 2.0, Public Health, and Our Better Angels” and what I propose as a forward-looking public health blueprint to rebuild back better. Read my answers: poz.com/article/better-angel…

Bashing millennials was so 2016, everyone is hurting, everyone is making choices that they are being forced to make, no one wanted “this” for an economy.

Cities are where climate action becomes health action. Protecting communities requires local data, community leadership, and equitable investment. That is why climate resilience must be part of urban health.
Climate risks are global, but they land in our territories. 🌍 Our CEMR Policy Advisor, Axelle Griffon, was invited today to speak at the European Parliament ENVI Committee workshop "Managing climate risks on the road to a climate resilient Europe". She discussed the forthcoming Integrated Framework for Climate Resilience and Risk Management with Jaroslav Mysiak, Sibylle Steimen, Elina Bardram, and MEPs. Our message on behalf of Europe's local and regional governments: 📍Put territories at the centre of the framework. 💶Move from short-term project funding to long-term resilience investment, with easier access for smaller municipalities. 🛠️Equip local governments with risk data, technical assistance and peer learning. 🌊Prioritise prevention, nature-based solutions and fair risk-sharing where risks exceed local capacity. The cost of inaction is rising for citizens, businesses and public budgets. Local governments are the first line of response, and they need to be part of the solution from the start. #ClimateResilience #ClimateAdaptation #LocalGovernment #CEMR #EUPolicy
