I noticed the people saying "let us be fair, transparent and reliable partners to our users" must be getting shut down as well, because user interests are merely a distraction from creating superintelligence.

Running JavaScript at runtime is everywhere now: AI-generated changes, user automation, plugins, programmable app parts. The problem is that a regular `eval()` inherits all the host's permissions.
Today we're introducing @platformatic's new library, `secure-eval-worker`, which runs JS in Node.js workers with only the permissions you choose.

Today, I’m proud to announce Homebrew 7.0.0.
The most significant changes since 6.0.0 are faster installations, stronger sandboxing, native macOS app, vulnerability checks, advisory database, end of macOS 10.15 support and Intel Macs to Tier 3.

Yesterday, the npm was hit by the third-largest supply chain compromise in its history, a new Shai-Hulud (named for Dune sandworms). Diving into the code we find that—as in Heretics of Dune—the danger is not so much the worm itself as the ecology that has evolved around it:

HTML was designed for linked documents. Overtime it was forced to become our main application runtime by layering CSS, JavaScript, DOM mutation, bundlers, virtual DOMs, hydration, cookies, OAuth, REST, GraphQL, CDNs, service workers, and dozens of compatibility abstractions on top.
That architecture is conceptually wrong for today's internet.

My friend is a 10x software engineer.
He is insanely gifted. We were looking at the Yamauchi No.10 Family Office website together years ago and I asked him what it would cost to build it today. I will never forget his answer…
"We can’t, we don’t know how to do it."

Anthropic CEO:
“ I have engineers within anthropic who don’t write any code, they just let Claude write the code and they edit it and look it over”
“At anthropic writing code means designing the next version of Claude it self, so we essentially have Claude designing the next version of Claude itself, not completely but most of it”.
In the last 52 days, the Claude team dropped 50+ major feature launches.
This is literally INSANE.
Software engineers are the happiest people on Earth now.
They pay $100/month for Claude Code to do the work.
Their employer pays them $10,000/month for the results.
$9,900 profit for sipping coffee and talking to AI.
The funniest part?
Not a single dev with a full-time job will ever admit this publicly
What a time to be alive.
