I've always found the Milgram Shock Experiment to be enlightening and ugly in it's conclusion into the human condition. An underlying Machiavellian guidebook to force or recognize obedience structures.
The original experiment comes to the following conclusion: Put an individual into a position where a figure of authority directs an individual to pull a trigger, and ~65% of individuals will kill a motherfucker (perhaps feel guilty about it later).
It's important that folks understand these experiments were first conducted to try and understand how many German's could just follow orders through out the Holocaust.
What's as interesting as the original experiment is the permutations of the experiment that determined the variables that increased and decreased compliance to obedience. Prominence of location (Hospital), Uniform (Doctor's lab coat or nurse uniform), Social Support Conditions (Dissenters punished/encouraged), Two Teacher Condition (proximity to personal responsibility, like say something is mandated).
Understanding these set of experiments can help you both institute obedience OR recognize when obedience "structures" are being used. Which may help you better understand the world.
Well worth your time to read more into these experiments.

This is actually an IQ test. What made the Industrial Revolution possible was European governments spending multiple centuries culling the bottom 2% criminal element as a state-run eugenics program, until the aristocratic gene pool improved enough to develop a large base of men with the time preference to stop killing the Golden Goose and allow for novel legal concepts such as copyright, intellectual property to be protected so that men like Elon Musk could develop technological wealth production, sanitation, railroads, electricity, etc.. The real historical Bene Gesserit Kwisatz Haderach was multiple centuries of firing squads and gallows purging the gene pool of everyone who didn't get it, while at the same time aristocratic men married and had more kids and organized into secret cabal conspiracies of friendships such as the Royal Society of London.
Jealousy is a huge problem.
Crabs-in-a-bucket mentality.
When Deng Xiaoping took over the Chinese nation which Mao Zedong had terrorized and destroyed, one of the things Deng Xiaoping said in public was "Let some people get rich first".
The crowd will always want to tear the Great Man of History down. You have to change the incentive structure.
Elon Musk MOGs everybody, and most people just seethe and want to murder him and take his stuff. We need two things: a selfless admiration of heroic achievement, and an absolute ruthless brutality willingness to get our hands dirty and crush anyone who tries to interfere with our success.
Billionaires need bodyguards. They need to be protected from the mob with pitchforks.
In China, Jack Ma got too powerful with Alibaba and he got disappeared and his family got kidnapped and Jack Ma's business was taken over by the government and he was humiliated and sent to go work at elementary schools after he had been a billionaire, so that everyone knew not to try to get too rich and ambitious.
Tall poppies get cut.
Civilization requires a society to develop mechanisms for protecting exceptional individuals from the destructive impulses of the majority. Otherwise, you get African barbarism where the parasitic obese mammies are robbing the farmers and builders before anything can get built.
People have this intuitive sense that people who create wealth are actually hoarding it from everyone else. That assumes the wealth existed beforehand. That assumes a kind of law of conservation of wealth, where wealth is never created or destroyed but just moved around. That isn’t how wealth works. Elon created something that didn’t exist before.

Hey Albertans
Every Alberta conservative MP is currently whining about Carney not removing the tanker ban, yet none of them supported Option 2 to get Albertans more leverage.
They all deserve to be tossed out of office by Albertans.
Vote @albertanowparty for actual representation for Albertans.

QatarEnergy now has 7mtpa under LTC for US offtake for 20-odd years. As a hedge for the Strait of Hormuz closing again in the future, I'd argue. The planned North Field West plant, which has no offtakers yet, is 16mtpa, btw. #LNG #natgas #TTF

🚨BREAKING: The Liberals just voted against Bill C-264, leaving their Liberal tanker ban in place and preventing the export of crude oil from Prince Rupert on B.C's north coast.
This shows that Prime Minister Mark Carney is not serious about making Canada an energy superpower.

European gas prices are fast approaching €100/MWh for the first time since 2022 🇪🇺📈
The continued disruption to LNG flows through Hormuz, coupled with Europe’s low storage levels and rising winter heating demand, have contributed to the recent gains

Seems Danielle Smith has done a big 180 from the pre- referendum vote days. This is my take on what she's up to:
By declaring the UCP a strictly "pro-Canada" party right before the leadership review, she may be deliberately forcing a split. If the grassroots vote her out, she can exit gracefully on the public stage, claiming she stood up for "unity" and the referendum results, making her highly employable in federal or corporate circles.
When a leader goes from threatening to ignore federal laws with the Sovereignty Act to giving ultimatums to their own base to fall in line with Ottawa, it rarely happens without a fallback plan already locked in behind closed doors.
Many former premiers who "play ball" with Ottawa end up being rewarded with highly lucrative appointments to federal boards, crown corporations, or international trade advisory panel, the exact kind of entities Mark Carney is currently setting up with the EU.
Given her background in media and public relations, becoming a federal intermediary or "Special Envoy" for Western resources under a centralized Ottawa framework would be the ultimate corporate-political landing pad.
More than ever she looks compromised, and all of her playing "nice politics" with Carney was to get her to this place and that's where I think she's going
