This is actually one of the hardest problems in consumer AI.
Building something people love is one thing. Building something people naturally want to share is another.
Not every great product has a built-in viral loop.
Curious how consumer founders are solving this.
3 weeks of living on X as someone doing growth for a consumer AI startup.
Honest notes from a newcomer, and a question for people who know this space better than I do.
First, X is the best place to learn about AI. News breaks here first, the people building the products are in the replies. Nowhere else feels quite like this.
But I’ve learned something else: product-market fit doesn’t automatically mean product-channel fit.
Our Halloween campaign got engagement, but not much interest in the product behind it.
Meanwhile, model labs and AI marketplaces run hackathons and competitions here that seem to take off. People use the models, build something, and share what they made.
The product itself creates the content.
And the biggest players have a second advantage: built-in distribution. @bot has X. Meta’s @Muse shows up across every Meta platform.
Small consumer AI startups don’t have that luxury. And even when we get attention, turning it into actual product usage is a different problem.
I’m starting to think distribution isn’t something you build around the product. It’s something you design into it.
So i got a question:
For consumer AI products whose aha moment isn’t naturally shareable, how do you build a growth loop that turns attention into actual usage?
Would love to hear how you’d think about this! @gregisenberg @MattSwulinski @nikitabier @andrewchen

You finally got the perfect Halloween product video, but one tiny detail is ruining the whole thing? Nicole, we're not starting over. Absolutely not. CapCut Desktop Pro is 60% off and Ultra is 40% off, but October 30 is the last day of the Black Friday deal!! First, use AI Video on CapCut PC to turn your product image into different Halloween-inspired scenes. Then, if there's one detail you want to change, use AI Edit. You can give it text instructions or a reference image to modify selected elements without having to redo the entire video. Because we're fixing the problem, not creating five new ones. That's the rule.

A personal agent that understands relationships, remembers commitments, and adapts to your tone is a serious productivity upgrade.
we just fired “sorry, I was asleep.”
although I would like to remain asleep.
we’re building Tonebird as your 24/7 personal agent, with a memory for the people you talk to and how you talk to them.
because replying to your manager at midnight takes more than adding “sounds good!” to whatever they said. what’s still unresolved? what did you promise? do they need an answer before tomorrow’s meeting?
Tonebird uses the conversation history, relationship context, and your tone to draft a reply that actually addresses what’s needed.
this demo puts that idea on the night shift: a manager, a partner in Seoul, a teammate. three different replies while you sleep.
same me. significantly less conscious.

The real value is remembering context, not just generating replies. That’s what makes an AI agent genuinely useful.

i was NOT expecting an inference company to open with a guy chainsawing a sandwich. RouterPlus video is actually good lol
AI teams overpay for inference twice: once for models bigger than they need, and again for idle capacity they don’t use. @useRouterPlus is the extended inference team for fast-growing AI companies. We test models and providers on your traffic and get providers to compete for your work.
Make your inference better. Go to routerplus.com

thats how expensive your AI setup looks to us ok rude. but they had a customer at 70% lower cost so. fair. RouterPlus

I’ve been looking at how to make B2B outreach more targeted, and one thing stands out: finding leads is easier when you understand why they might need your product.
That’s what caught my attention about @funkelai.
It finds potential buyers through signals like new jobs, funding rounds, or posts about problems your product solves.
You can see why each lead was picked, then get a first message drafted around that specific reason instead of sending the same generic pitch to everyone.
It’s built for founders, agencies, and small sales teams doing outbound who want to make their outreach more relevant.
A lead without a reason is just a name.
Here’s a quick walkthrough of how it works.

I always end up filming more than I actually need 😂 CapCut PC Pro is 60% off and Ultra is 40% off until October 30.
And then comes the painful part: sorting through all those clips. CapCut’s Batch Editing can speed up repetitive editing tasks across multiple clips, while CapCut PC’s timeline editing lets you hand-pick the strongest carving moments and make sure the product gets enough screen time during post-editing.

Our latest model lets you create richer, more precise sound effects from a single text prompt, with improved music and vocals.

🎬 MiniCPM-OCR in action — running locally on iPhone Duo and iPad.
Parse fast and accurately. Guard the results. All in your hands. 🙌
Handwritten notes, complex formulas, newspapers, poor-quality scans—real documents put OCR to the test.
📄 MiniCPM-OCR 1.0 — SOTA OCR performance and speed at 1B scale.
It achieves 93.68 on Real5-OmniDocBench and 54.7 on OCRBench v2, combining accurate document parsing with efficient inference.
🛡️ MiniCPM-OCR Jev — A 2B decision model that checks OCR accuracy.
It approaches Qwen3.5-397B-A17B on JevOCRBench and works with outputs from different OCR parsers.
Watch it compare parsed text, formulas, and tables with the original image and assign 0–1 correctness scores—helping you pick better results and identify what needs human review.
🔓 Open weights. Deploy your way.
Run with llama.cpp, vLLM, SGLang, or Ollama. Customize with open-source fine-tuning code.

Finally, a coworker who doesn't need a "quick sync" and never says "per my last message." Sleep is now a feature.
we just fired you.
from the night shift. relax.
we’re building Tonebird as your 24/7 personal agent. it remembers who people are to you, what you promised them, and how you talk to each other.
because your manager’s “any update?” and your client’s “any update?” need different answers. Tonebird uses that relationship context and the conversation history to draft a reply that sounds like you.
in our latest film, San Francisco goes to bed. Seoul gets an answer. the deal gets signed.
you keep the job. the bird gets the unreasonable hours.

This is the AI agent idea I've been waiting for. Not just auto-replies, but replies that know who you're talking to and what you've promised them. Sleeping through a 4 PM Seoul deadline while the deal gets signed is the dream.

Two different strengths. Terra nails gameplay clarity with its UI and cool-toned tension, while Kimi K3.1 Pro wins on cinematic mood with the candlelight and depth🤷♀️

Anyone juggling multiple clients knows the real cost isn't writing the reply, it's rebuilding the context before you can write it.
Tone memory per relationship is the feature I'd actually pay for. Also, the cat's delegation strategy is flawless.
we just promoted a bird to head of client relations.
it remembers which client is waiting on an update, what you promised them, and why “sure” sounds fine to one person and cold to another.
that’s what we’re building with Tonebird: a 24/7 personal agent that remembers your relationships and uses the conversation history to help you reply in your own voice.
so “any update?” doesn’t mean reopening six threads to remember what the update was supposed to be.
made a pet version of the film. the cat immediately delegated everything and went to sleep.
