I can't believe reddit bros erased the legacy of George Westinghouse (the main proponent of AC power) and attributed it to Tesla who invented the AC motor, not AC power as a whole. Tesla and Edison didn't have a rivalry! It was between Westinghouse and Edison!

George Westinghouse supported Tesla later in life. Not Edison.

Tesla and Edison were best at taking credit for accomplishments they didn't actually achieve. The great unrecognized genius is actually George Westinghouse, through whose industriousness the AC system is ubiquitous today.

Markets rarely reward taste. At least not on a timescale that matters for most companies. So whenever a product is perfect beyond what’s strictly required to meet demand then know someone thanklessly grinded to bring more beauty into your life.

Also, we get our word plumbing from the Latin ‘plumbum’, which means lead. And lead is PB on the periodic table.

Just a reminder, there are good people doing good things that you don’t know about. Today I was working on a state of homelessness story and tripped into these 3 handing out bags (w a blanket and toiletries) to those living unhoused in downtown #Atlanta.
