Strathcona Resources is proposing to ship up to 250,000 barrels of Canadian oil a day by rail to Prince Rupert and then on to overseas markets.
Only one thing stands in the way: Mark Carney's tanker ban.
Let’s create more 🇨🇦 jobs, get better prices for our resources, and be less dependent on the U.S. by voting YES to Conservative MP @DMcKenzieCPC's bill on Wednesday to scrap the tanker ban and put Canada first.

Let me get this straight:
The market is pricing in +80% chance Canada is going to raise rates this week?
The same 🇨🇦 Canada that:
- Lost nearly 70,000 jobs last month
- Has inflation below 2%
- Recent GDP puts us at 1.7%
- Has a housing market on its knees
- Is in a trade war with its biggest trading partner
Make it make sense.
Logan halted and getting acquired by $OVV.TO Management teams identified the “asset collectors” and front running their M&A moves. $ATH.TO gone…If you produce liquids in the Montney at >40% you won’t exist...same happened to Arc and Nuvista, Condy is too valuable. Another one gone… soon there won’t be nothing to discuss. RIP Logan 🪦🫡🪒
Reminder: We have an active and very sophisticated asset collector in the Canadian thermal market. Bears will do bears things, but reality is reality. I don't make the rulez. I know some executive dudes are following me for the untouched thermal assets. You guys know what's up. Deploy cash now! get aggressive now!! OR prepare to be eaten. 🫡🪒

Is Cenovus the new CNQ?
Veteran value investor @KimSharingValue of Sionna Investment Managers picked Cenovus Energy (CVE.TO) before it doubled—and she believes there's still more upside ahead.
Cenovus remains one of her largest holdings at roughly 5% of the portfolio. In fact, Shannon sold Canadian Natural Resources (CNQ.TO) in favour of Cenovus, believing it offers greater growth potential.
She points to a highly regarded management team with significant skin in the game, a strong track record of acquisitions, and potential benefits from changes to Canada's energy regulations and tax regime.
With oil around $100 a barrel and consolidation reshaping Canada's energy sector, could Cenovus become the new gold standard for Canadian oil stocks?

We have in our energy strategies for the past ~2 months been defensively positioned. YTD returns have been solid and we feared bad energy policy from the WH (diesel export ban, etc.) ahead of the US mid-terms. With only 20 days to go to the election, we think that risk has been largely eliminated. The 2027 WTI strip is $84 offering eye-watering free cashflow yields for some, the situation in the Middle East continues to worsen with no end in sight, and for the first time in a decade we have a Canadian Government that is supportive of the energy sector. Despite some stocks appreciating by 70%+ YTD and making all-time highs, they are in some cases cheaper today than they were on January 1st. Given this, we have been deploying some of our cash, and continue to believe that we remain in a multi-year bull market for energy stocks.

Just now, David Eby confirms that he has his kids in $10/day taxpayer-subsidized daycare.
Approx. only 10% of BC daycare spots offer $10/day daycare. Most families who want in can't get a spot.
As Premier, Eby earns $227k/year. Eby's wife is a doctor. Their household income is likely well over half a million dollars per year.
We don't resent British Columbians who are successful (we want more people to succeed).
But where there are wait lists, surely a wealthy family like Eby's shouldn't be taking advantage of $10/day daycare. Think about a working single mother? David Eby deserves the spot more than her?
