The clearest admittance I've ever read that our economies are built upon and rely upon the extraction of surplus value from workers. In 2026 basic Marxist precepts remain unquestionable.

Such a touching sight to see parliamentary failure @joannaccherry having a love in with serial lawfare loser and documented racist transphobe, Sandie Peggie.

i love the way landlords frame ripping off tenants for profit as though they’re doing some kind of charitable work and being a landlord is in no way beneficial for them personally
Like many landlords across our UK, our son has put his 5 beautiful buy-to-let properties up for sale, leaving 5 Cheshire families looking for social housing that just doesn't exist. So, @AngelaRayner's & @JohnHealey_MP 's stupid attack on private landlords will mean higher rents.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This user has posted nearly identical claims about his son selling 5 Cheshire buy-to-let properties due to policies since at least 2024. Buy-to-let homes are private rentals, not social housing.

Apparently, if a woman doesn’t kick out, scream, try to leave, or basically react in a way a man tells she should react in a situation he’s likely never to find himself in, she hasn’t been raped at all.
Russell Brand’s barrister sounds like a right misogynist cunt.

How do you expect the courts to determine, beyond any reasonable doubt, whether airflow was restricted for the purposes of the Act in cases where evidence does not clearly depict it?
Do you expect individuals to monitor oxygen saturation levels during the proceedings?
Replying to @CobaltCherry
That is how most of the law works - it is up to the courts to determine whether airflow has been restricted for the purposes of the Act. It is the same with ABH and GBH - the courts have discretion to interpret the law to ensure that it is applied fairly to the facts of the case.

I, quite honestly, couldn’t give a single solitary fuck what impact the allegations had on him. Genuinely, I hope the cunt lives a long and frankly miserable life no matter the verdict in this trial.

A reminder that this Labour government were elected with a *173* seat majority. Larger than Clement Attlee’s majority.
Andy Burnham promised to ‘end 40 years of neoliberalism’.. yet he won’t even use this historic majority to even introduce rent controls.
Remember this in 2029.
I see the nonsense “rent controls are back” takes keep coming.
There is no rent control in England.
The legal right to challenge rent increases at tribunal was introduced by the Thatcher Government in its 1988 Housing Act.
It was rarely used in practice only because it inevitably resulted in a landlord serving a Section 21 notice.
Labour’s Renters’ Rights Act abolished Section 21 ‘no fault’ evictions and renters are now rightly empowered to challenge unfair or above-market rent increases.
In both the recent cases that have been the cause of so much debate, the tribunal has been operating exactly as it should – determining that the landlords in question were charging rents that simply did not reflect local market values for comparable properties.

☝🏾👆🏾 Even after a few days, I still can’t fully describe what this moment means to me but one thing I can say with certainty is that I am incredibly proud of myself. Proud of the little girl who dared to dream, the woman who refused to give up and every version of me that kept going even when the destination seemed so far away
