I’ve said it before, & I’ll say it again, you’ll never hear me say a bad word about Jalen Williams. He has continuously sacrificed his body for this team & city in an attempt to win. We say we want the athletes we root for to care & make sacrifices — & he’s done it over & over. He’ll come back from this. He’s a dog.

Chet Holmgren on SGA checking himself out despite being 3 points from keeping his 20 point streak alive: "I asked him, you want to shoot some 3s here? And he said no.. I told him he's a better man than me. I would've been shooting some pull up 3s. It was a selfless moment. He's a selfless guy."

Weird stat: No team in college football history has defeated BYU a year after turning down a Pop-Tarts Bowl invite to play BYU the previous season

Trying to understand the concept of #1 BYU (8-0) @ #2 Utah (8-0) on November 7 and it might actually break the Beehive State.

It makes very logical sense that the Thunder would take a step back this season. Holding that defensive rating, among the best all time, for multiple years is really difficult and taxing. They have three deep playoff runs in a row. They have changed the identity of the team more towards offense (while obviously retaining great defensive players). They might be healthier with their injured guys from last season and have different injuries this year. And then you watch them in preseason and they are just killing everyone on every possession with every lineup combo and rotation piece and it's just like "Yeah, they're just going to win 60 again." The organizational strength of that team is just absurd.

Yes that Michelsen-Tiafoe match was one of the best of the tournament, a highlight of Frances's career and showed the beauty of tennis on so many levels, but have you considered it could have been 2 and a half hours shorter and worse to appeal to young people who can't watch?

One of the funniest conversations is talking to professional athletes about tennis. They all respect the hell out of it because they actually understand what elite athleticism looks like. Then you talk to some guy who played high school sports and he thinks tennis is easy. These are 6’4”, 6’6”+ freak athletes moving like gazelles for four to five hours, making decisions at hockey speed, with the hand-eye coordination of a baseball player, the reaction time of a fighter, and the endurance of a boxer mixed with an ultramarathoner. And they have to do it while controlling a ball with inches of margin, point after point, completely alone. There’s a reason elite athletes respect tennis. Sorry, if you still can’t see it, you’re probably the dweeb who got picked last for dodgeball in middle school.
THIS POINT. THIS ANGLE.

The prize of the in season tournament champions should be acquiring the clippers lost picks. Let’s get crazy
The Clippers will lose their 2029, 2030, 2031, 2032, and 2033 first-round picks, per the release. Here is their draft pick situation pre-punishment.

"Brian Santiago met secretly with Jay Hill and offered him Kalani's job" because Kalani was making plans to leave for Penn State. Anyone clutching their pearls about an AD working on a contingency plan is ignoring how this business works.

HUGE for BYU. Jaxon Kohler got better and better during his career at Michigan State. Can shoot it from deep and I think he’ll pair nicely with Rob Wright. I see a lot of pick & pop 3s coming for Kohler there.
BREAKING: BYU has landed Michigan State transfer Jaxson Kohler, his agent Adam Godes told @thefieldof68. Huge pickup for Kevin Young and the Cougars - as long as Kohler is eligible this season.

Missing piece for BYU. Needed a bonafide 5-man and they landed one of the best ones in the country last season. Kohler averaged 12.5 points and 8.9 rebounds a year ago, shot 39% from 3. Honorable mention All-Big Ten selection. Cougs should again be ELITE offensively.
News: 6-foot-10 Michigan State big man Jaxon Kohler has committed to BYU, he tells me. Massive addition for the Cougs. vanquishthefoe.com/byu-baske…

Needle-mover for BYU, if eligible. Rob Wright, Collin Chandler, Bruce Branch and Jaxon Kohler is a quartet that can play with anybody.
BREAKING: Michigan State transfer Jaxon Kohler tells me that he has committed to BYU. Averaged 12.5 PPG and 8.9 RPG last season. Kohler is pursuing a fifth year and is currently eligible following the preliminary injunction in California.

SGA averaged 33.8 points, 8.0 assists and 3.8 rebounds on 67.8 TS% and was a +43 in a 4-0 sweep of the Suns in the playoffs.
Dillon Brooks says he “had Shai’s number” and hopes SGA sees this 👀 Now he has Wemby on his radar too.
