With @MarkJCarney it's always all bullshit, all show, all theatre, all hokum. One of the latest Carney con EU/Canada headlines is "Canadian students would get access to EU schools under new deal." What new deal? As Carney said “Through this program (Erasmus+), Canadian students can pursue their studies in Barcelona just as easily as they could in McGill." It's not a done deal, of course, Carney still needs to pay the EU over $1 billion to fully participate in 2027. Money well spent, in my view. But ever-lying Carney says “We don’t view this as ‘paying for something,'" Carney told reporters about the cost of becoming an associate member of the EU. “We view this as coming together … this is a positive association.” Ever Orwell's student. All of this, as is almost always the case with Carney, is all a Big Lie, told to get earned media. Look, look at me, everyone. "Canada already had access to the Erasmus+ program before Carney’s announcement." There is no new deal. All of this is just new wrapping and lipstick and bows. Kudos, again, to the @TorontoStar for tying hard to stop Carney conning Canadians. Although so many of my fellow citizens seem stuck in the thrall of Carneyland. thestar.com/news/canada/cana…

Reddit's CEO just admitted something $GOOGL would rather you didn't hear!! "Google is crawling us as hard as ever. AI Mode does not drive traffic. Not for us, and not to anybody." The way the internet ran on for 25 years is you let Google read your site, and Google sends you visitors/traffic. That deal is over now and it’s all because of AI. Google now reads Reddit, writes the answer itself and the user never leaves the search page. Reddit does the work and Google keeps the reader…and that’s how money is being made. For $RDDT, its biggest front door is closing which is why the stock is down -25% this morning. Huffman's plan is that people will just come to Reddit directly. Maybe. But US user growth is already down to 6%, and "we'll change everyone's habits" is a hope that’s never gonna come. For Google, the issue is the same. The damage is slower but it goes deeper. Its AI is only as smart as the open web it learns from. Stop sending sites traffic, and they'll lock their content up, sell it to rival labs or block Google outright. Google is eating the thing it feeds on. AI killed the click and both of these companies were built on it. It's a fight over who survives the next version of the internet… $GOOGL looks interesting if they cannot win the search

Handing copyrighted work to AI companies for AI training could amount to an "acquisition of property by government," breaching the Australian constitution. Couldn't agree more. Whatever the constitution says, it is common sense that people's life's work isn't the Australian government's to give away to billionaire US tech barons. theguardian.com/law/2026/oct…

Carney could protect Canadians. But he instead supports these companies founded on whole scale theft on a massive scale.
Artists, authors, and creators are being ripped off by massive, billion-dollar companies like Open AI. This theft of proprietary information is plainly illegal, and it will devastate the American industries built upon expertise and creativity. Trump’s DOJ is out of line in its attempt to intervene in this case, and it is badly misinformed about the purpose of copyright law and allowable exceptions for fair use. America can and should lead the world in artificial intelligence without building it on theft. nytimes.com/2026/10/30/techn…

Maple-favoured Palantir.
Cohere Chief AI Officer @joellepineau argues Canadian PM Mark Carney's critics are wrong: The US and China don't have a monopoly on frontier AI. "I disagree very strongly with that premise, to the point that it's why I decided to join Cohere." "Building for the frontier is a choice. There's enough circulation of talent between Cohere and the other frontier labs that the recipe is reasonably well known." "The main blocker on compute is access to capital. And then it's talent, and we have a phenomenal pool of talent in Canada anchored in Mila, Vector, and others." "It's hard work to build frontier models. Every day you've got to hustle to get access to the compute and make the right technical choices. You can't afford to take a wrong turn in your training strategy." @cohere

Worth reading not just to understand how insane Musk is, but how insane we are. We have allowed this man to become intrinsic to the economy of the United States. No human being, not even the president, is Constitutionally endowed with such powers. If the next president is a Democrat one of the most important, most dangerous, most painful projects will be wresting control of America's destiny from this madman. It will cause a recession at best, the destruction of millions of retirement accounts, and jeopardize national security for years. But the alternative is civilizational suicide. nytimes.com/2026/10/30/opini…

This.
Prime Minister @MarkJCarney constantly bullshits Canadians about protecting Canadian sovereignty, code for @realDonaldTrump, but he's quick, eager, and giddy to sell out Canada's sovereignty and worker's and other citizens' rights and well-being to deep pocket foreign corporations and financial institutions.

When the f will we stop allowing big tech/data to do whatever the f they want?!!! Carney and his Min of “AI” lapdog could put policies and laws in place in a matter of a few months. But. They. Don’t. Is it incompetence? Indifference? Or do they just not care about Canadians?
Meta changing their terms to say that any link on their platform gives the the "right" to steal all the data on a website is like me getting a sales flyer on the mail and that means I have the "right" to take everything I want from the store.

Feels like Carney just loves playing “statesman”. He loves the power, plane, personal chef, + his ego needs the public speeches & media attention. But there’s nothing underneath. No real values. Nothing re climate or approving our lives. Just self-aggrandizing & empty MOUs.
Good to see the @globeandmail holding Prime Minister @MarkJCarney accountable for his big bullshit and smoke and mirrors. What we see (Surprise! Surprise!) is that Carney is really, really good at screwing people like students, immigrants, and workers, and really bad at delivering anything that helps people or protects the environment. Good to see Canada's journalists exposing Carney. If Canadians stay suckered by this guy, it's on them, not the fourth estate which is doing its job. theglobeandmail.com/business…

Because we’ve allowed Google to run a global theft operation.
E a reação do Reddit mostra pra onde a internet tá indo. A maior parte do conteúdo vai passar a pedir login, com teste em alguns países fora dos Estados Unidos ainda este ano.

It's also Peter Thiel wrapped in a Hudson Bay blanket.
Cohere is backed by NVIDIA, Oracle, AMD, Tiger Global and Saudi-linked Prosperity7 Ventures. It also partnered with U.S.-based @CoreWeave to build and operate AI computing infrastructure in Ontario. Now Ottawa is committing up to $1.6 BILLION in taxpayer money. How much of Cohere is actually Canadian owned? How much of its infrastructure is under foreign control? And why should taxpayers bankroll a government-picked winner without clear answers?

Mark Carney isn't a Board Chair anymore. He's not and has never been a CEO. He's not an executive manager. He's not an appointed and unaccountable bureaucrat. He's not our boss. His role is not to tell us what to do. He is not infallible. Carney is a Prime Minister in what is supposed to be a representative form of government. We are Canadians. He and every other member of the House of Commons represent us. When will his caucus revolt? We are not his employees. We're citizens of a G7 country. What will it take for Canadians to remind our government of their role? Or are we simply too content being tax slaves to fund his NWO agenda?

I’m blocked by Palantir’s Canadian arm Cohere. These bastards are developing the AI to decide whether you're a terrorist & block your bank account. And the kicker is, you're paying for it! Another gift from Prime Minister Brookfield Asset Management.

Copyright-based work is almost 8% of the USA economy. Neglecting this issue for YEARS has been a disaster for American workers; why has it taken so long to address this? Here's a survey from the UK on job loss among illustrators: theaoi.com/wp-content/upload…
