About two months ago my son put in new RAM. Friday evening he came home from school and discovered the power button wasn’t responding-no on, no off. He said, “Dad, I’d like you to shadow me while I pull the computer apart and figure out what’s really wrong.”
He told me he’s going to get a container for the screws and dig into the root cause. He also said he’s careful so he doesn’t destroy the motherboard. I looked at this kid, not even a teenager, and thought about what I was doing at his age.
Moral of the story: just trying to keep it short. Do your best not to have children, or let your children rot in a third-world country.
The women in that part of the world already see childbirth as a death sentence.

Introducing the Naija Radio API! 🇳🇬
You can now bring Nigerian radio stations directly into your websites, applications, and games without having to build the radio infrastructure yourself.
In fact, this is the same API powering the radio experience inside Lagos Life (@LagosLifeApp)!
Since integrating it, we've served over 140,000 API requests to Lagos Life alone, and more developers are already using it in private beta.
With the API, you can discover over 100 Nigerian radio stations, fetch their metadata and stream URLs, and build your own listening experience.
And yes, it's FREE to use!
I've also put together documentation, a quick-start guide, and integration examples to help you get started.
Whether you're building a game, website, or mobile app, you can now bring a little more Naija into it.
Let's build! ❤️

I'm looking for more people on X who actually make things.
AI tools, little SaaS projects, WordPress plugins, PHP, JavaScript, whatever. Doesn't matter if you're learning or you've been at it for 20 years.
I'd rather follow someone showing off a scrappy weekend project than another account dispensing startup wisdom.
What are you working on?

AN OPEN LETTER TO THE HONOURABLE MINISTER OF COMMUNICATIONS, INNOVATION AND DIGITAL ECONOMY, DR. 'BOSUN TIJANI (@bosuntijani)
Dear Sir,
Given your inspiring keynote speech at this year's Deep Learning Indaba, where you charged African startups with the task of building sovereign AI, it is my pleasure to share that StripppleCare, my indigenous healthtech startup, secured 1st place at DeepLearning Indaba's (@DeepIndaba) maiden pitch competition in collaboration with the International Telecommunication Union (@ITU).
This earned us an invitation to Geneva: admission into the Innovation Factory Accelerator, a startup exhibition booth, and the opportunity to pitch at the annual AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva, Switzerland, in June 2027.
We are building sovereign digital verification rails for healthcare financing on the continent, incorporating NIPOST’s Digital Postcode framework for immutable proof-of-presence, unlocking critical liquidity for healthcare providers. We are taking homegrown Nigerian ingenuity straight to the United Nations 🇳🇬🇺🇳.
However, as an early-stage startup, financing travel and accommodation to Geneva for 4-5 days has proven to be an uphill task for our young team.
Given Nigeria's prominent seat at the ITU and our national commitment to showcasing indigenous innovation on global stages, I humbly approach you and the Ministry to request travel and accommodation support to enable me to represent our work in Switzerland.
Thank you for your tireless support in spotlighting homegrown builders, Sir. 🙏

If you're a Nigerian developer, whether you're just starting out or you've been building for years, there's so much you can build and learn with homegrown technologies 🇳🇬❤️
We have:
🇳🇬 @Dbrij_hq & @pxxl_space instead of Vercel for hosting.
🇳🇬 @StackshiftCloud for VPS hosting and management, as an alternative to providers like Hostinger and tools like Coolify.
🇳🇬 @Dbrij_hq & @sendly_ai_ instead of Resend for business and transactional emails.
🇳🇬 @cencori instead of OpenRouter and Cloudflare AI Gateway for AI model access and management.
🇳🇬 Sabilytics.com instead of Google Analytics and DataFast for website analytics.
🇳🇬 @OutRayTunnel for tunnelling local services, as an alternative to tools like ngrok and Cloudflare Tunnel.
🇳🇬 @Bachs_hq for international payments, as an alternative to Stripe.
And these are just the ones I can remember right now!
I'm not saying you must stop using international tools.
I'm saying we have people right here building alternatives worth trying, supporting, and contributing to. With better local pricing that fits us.
I know I'm missing so many other products.
What other Nigerian-built products and their global alternatives should be on this list?
Drop them in the replies! 👇
And if you're building something in Nigeria or anywhere across Africa, please submit your project to Africa Is Building so more people can discover what you're working on ❤️

Business will test your patience🥲
Learnt one thing though; not every emotion deserves a decision.
A frustrating client doesn't deserve an impulsive response. Feeling undervalued doesn't mean you should abandon your worth.
Pause. Think. Then respond
Feel everything, but FOCUS.
