THE GREAT AMERICAN FERTILIZER COMEBACK IS UNDERWAY. 🇺🇸 Today in Louisiana, alongside @LAGovJeffLandry and @RepJuliaLetlow, we broke ground on two MAJOR projects that will bring fertilizer production back to American soil: 🔹 $3.7 BILLION Blue Point ammonia facility — expected to become the largest ammonia production facility in the world by nameplate capacity 🔹 $450 MILLION Project Eagle phosphate facility — the first new U.S. phosphate granulation plant since 1984, expected to increase domestic phosphate production by approximately 60% 🔹 2.7 MILLION metric tons of combined annual production 🔹 Thousands of American construction and manufacturing jobs President Trump is cutting red tape, accelerating permitting, strengthening competition, and reducing our dependence on foreign suppliers. AMERICAN FERTILIZER IS COMING BACK. 🇺🇸      Today in Donaldsonville, Louisiana, we broke ground on @CFIndustries’ $3.7 BILLION Blue Point project—a major step toward American fertilizer independence.      Once operational, the facility is expected to be the world’s largest ammonia plant by nameplate capacity, producing approximately 1.4 MILLION metric tons annually. That fertilizer will support 6.7 MILLION acres of American corn production—or roughly 1.2 BILLION bushels.      Construction is also expected to create 3,900 jobs over four years and more than 100 permanent jobs here in Louisiana.      After companies were told federal permitting could take years, the Trump Administration helped move this project through federal review in roughly 45 DAYS.      Thank you to @DepSecVaden, @RepJuliaLetlow, Assistant Secretary Adam Telle, Chris Bohn, and the entire @CFIndustries team for helping bring more fertilizer production, investment, and jobs back to America.

🚨 FERTILIZER UPDATE 🚨 Following @POTUS’s temporary relief from countervailing duties on Moroccan phosphate fertilizer, OCP North America’s first shipment has arrived in America — approximately 54,000 metric tons, enough to support fertilizer application across more than 1 million acres. This is immediate relief while we build the long-term solution. America imports roughly 50% of the 20 million tons of fertilizer we use each year. That is why President Trump is lowering costs NOW while reshoring fertilizer production at Trump speed. His action is expected to save farmers $1.8 BILLION annually. But America cannot remain dependent on imports for critical farm inputs. That’s why @USDA is working across the Trump Administration to cut red tape, advance permitting reform, strengthen competition, and expand American fertilizer production. We are coordinating with @ENERGY on Energy Dominance Financing, working hand-in-hand with @Interior and @SecretaryBurgum to secure critical fertilizer inputs like phosphate and potash, and partnering with DOJ through a competition MOU to protect farmers from anti-competitive practices in agricultural input markets. We are already seeing results. Through federal coordination, the Administration helped move the world’s largest ammonia plant by nameplate capacity through federal permitting review in roughly 45 days — after companies were told it could take years.
