Prohibition or restriction never stopped a single addict from feeding their addiction. It’s just created more problems for the addict. And more often than not endangered their very lives by forcing them into unregulated substances. It’s about control, and power for authority.

Dear Healthy People, You have been taught to fear opioids. You’ve heard about addiction, overdoses, dependence, and the dangers of prescription pain medication. But there’s a side of this conversation you’ve probably never been asked to consider. What happens to the person whose pain never stops? Imagine waking up every morning in a body that hurts before your feet even touch the floor. Imagine knowing that tomorrow, next week, and perhaps ten years from now, that pain may still be waiting for you. Now imagine finding a medication that allows you to shower, prepare a meal, attend an appointment, walk your dog, or simply participate in the world again. And then imagine being told that needing that medication makes you suspicious. Here’s what millions of healthy people misunderstand about opioids: For chronic pain patients, the goal isn’t euphoria. It’s functionality. It’s getting out of bed. It’s being able to sit through dinner with family. It’s reclaiming a few ordinary hours from an illness that has already taken so much. Yes, opioids carry serious risks. Addiction, overdose, tolerance, and physical dependence deserve honest discussion. Those risks require careful prescribing and monitoring. But physical dependence is not addiction. And the fact that a medication carries risks does not erase the legitimate medical needs of the people who benefit from it. We have become so consumed with the possibility of someone misusing pain medication that we’ve stopped asking what happens when someone who genuinely needs pain relief cannot obtain it. Chronic pain patients are living, breathing human beings. We have families, dreams, responsibilities, and lives we are desperately trying to preserve. We deserve individualized medical care, informed decisions, and compassion. So before you judge someone for taking an opioid, ask yourself one question: If you woke up tomorrow in relentless pain, and a carefully prescribed medication gave you back even a fraction of your life, would you still see that medication the same way? Because it’s remarkably easy to have an opinion about pain you’ve never had to endure. And even easier to judge the medicine when you’ve never needed the relief.

I'll say something like "adults should be able to choose how they manage their health & well-being" & someone will go "Kratom is addictive! People withdrawl from it!" As if that somehow negates what I said.
Often when we simply advocate for kratom on here, or anywhere else, we are met w a crazy onslaught of ppl screaming at us that "ACTUALLY 🥸☝️consuming kratom ISN'T risk-free". But we aren't saying that it is. We are saying that it should be legal.

The debate is over whether or not the government is going to coerce more Americans into buying (and more Americans dying) from more drug control. Obviously the 21st amendment is there only to laugh about and the only thing that matters is ensuring drug controllers get paid.

End Kratom Addiction is an astroturf organization used to spread misinformation and unproven claims about kratom. Andrew Kolodny is at the root of all evil. We estimate he’s earned over $10 million at the expense of suffering patients
End Kratom Addiction founder Dean Francis went on the record claiming that mass tort paid gun/expert Dr Andrew Kolodny receives ‘$0 per hour’ and does all of his anti-kratom work ‘pro bono.’ When pressed on that claim, Francis didn’t stand by his words—he nuked the entire thread from existence. People don’t panic-delete a public defense because of a polite debate. They delete it when they are hiding something—or when someone orders them to take it down. Number 1 Why delete the thread, Dean? If your defense of Andrew Kolodny was the truth, why scrub the public record the moment people started asking for receipts? Number 2 Were you lying about Kolodny working for “$0 per hour”? Did you realize you had just put a financial claim in writing that you couldn’t back up—about a career expert witness who has billed $725 an hour and testified to a fee range of up to $500,000 in a single opioid case? Number 3 Or did Andrew Kolodny tell you to scrub the evidence? Kolodny has a documented history of not disclosing his conflicts of interest—in 2019 he asked JAMA to correct disclosures that left out his paid expert-witness work—and published accounts of his kratom editorial’s disclosure don’t mention his ties to FED UP! or the Steve Rummler HOPE Network. Did he make the call to kill the thread before the “$0 per hour” claim created a paper trail? How a five-day defense of Andrew Kolodny collapsed in forty-five minutes. Watch the video and then visit the website. open-truth.org/#dean-scrub

Friends, be aware that nitrous oxide decimates the B12 levels in your body. This can lead to permanent neurological damage that can mimic serious neurological diseases like MS. Trust me. You don't want that. Be careful.
California man shocked daily nitrous oxide habit wrecked his nerves, spine - now he's suing distributors trib.al/bJiVOuq

I'd argue that a reasonably healthy adult who consumes kratom daily, is at far less risk, than an adult who consumes fast food daily. I would bet my life on that, actually. Where are the @nytimes articles about fast food?
If we can pig out on fast food, drink alcohol, and drive cars, why shouldn't we be allowed to have kratom? I'd argue all 3 of those activities carry more risk than drinking a cup of kratom tea.

US pain management is run by the Dea state narc boards courts law enforcement customs coast guard tsa et al. Main rule is no rx opioid pain medications for anyone. Anyone who might use or request these medications is immediately labeled a drug addict, immoral, corrupt, drug seeker whose life is out of control and needs behavioral therapy and recovery. MDs get prison time for daring prescribe these addictive radioactive rat poisons and certain addiction and death <sarc>. Other MDs have seen this and go along to preserve their livelihoods even if it means not treating pain. Painful conditions are ignored and patients abused and humiliated by a system that prescribes useless garbage medications and otc garbage like Tylenol or things like physical therapy that do not treat chronic pain.
THIS!!! Too many pain patients have already died. How many is enough? When will it stop? Where are the investigative journalists, the reporters, the lawyers? Why do we have to suffer and die? #WeDontRecover #OpioidsSaveLives

The war on chronic pain patients was born out of public health/harm reduction/interventional pain/academics. They all stood to make tens of millions of dollars at the expense of chronic pain patients.

🤬🤬👀👀👀 Listen up-Repost this info because we need to call out Andrew Kolodny on his beyond evil actions against the kratom industry. And we need as many eyes on this issue as possible!! Thank you everyone! #KratomAdvocacy #KratomBan #Kratom #OpioidCrisis #Pain
Dr. Andrew Kolodny, let's follow the MONEY for a minute. 👀💰🔥 You want lawmakers to restrict kratom while presenting yourself as a voice of public health. But here's what I find interesting… You've previously been paid $725 AN HOUR for expert testimony and preparation in opioid litigation. Yes, you read that right. $725 an HOUR. 😳 And now you're publishing articles pushing for restrictions on a plant that adults have been using for years. So I have some questions. Who funds the research? Who pays the consultants? And are ALL relevant financial relationships being disclosed? Because when someone's professional opinions can influence legislation affecting millions of people, financial transparency shouldn't be optional. I've spent over a decade in the kratom industry. I believe in consumer safety, honest science, and accountability. And that accountability should apply to EVERYONE. Including the experts demanding restrictions. A medical degree doesn't make you immune from scrutiny. And a paycheck doesn't automatically make your argument correct. Follow the science. Follow the evidence. And yes, FOLLOW THE MONEY. 💰👀 #Kratom #AndrewKolodny #FollowTheMoney #KratomAdvocacy #Transparency

Yeah? Opioid doesn't mean bad and drug bans don't ban drugs. If people were following the science they would be abolishing all drug scheduling rather than repeating this headline over and over.
