Mumbai Mirror- How Mumbai civic activists use RTI, social media to get civic issues resolved. RTI activist Anil Galgali said tagging relevant officials on social media can help cut through lengthy official channels and prompt quicker action. “Recently, I posted on social media about the misuse of a parking plot and tagged the concerned officers, which yielded immediate results,” Galgali said. He also cited his efforts to open an eight-acre public garden in Chandivali that had been closed to residents for two years. For Galgali, the key is knowing which route to take for a particular grievance. “You need to understand where to file a complaint and where to use RTI,” he explained, adding that RTI is particularly useful for obtaining specific government records. @sameerreporter @mummirror @anamikasgharat @journofaizan @GreenStalin @AndheriLOCA @dhawalshah @CommunityBandra @activebandra @mulund_info @PowaiView @ChemburChapters @GovandiCell @mybmc @MTPHereToHelp @CPMumbaiPolice @MumbaiPolice @MahaDGIPR

The @mybmc urges residents in Mumbai, Thane and Bhiwandi to boil water for 7 days: BMC has completed repairs to Compartment 2 of the Yewai Master Balancing Reservoir at the Pise-Panjrapur water complex. The compartment will be commissioned on Wednesday, October 28. As the process could affect water quality, residents in parts of Mumbai city, the eastern suburbs, and areas of Thane and Bhiwandi supplied by the BMC have been advised to boil and filter drinking water for the next seven days.

Mumbai’s rising AQI and shrinking green cover are a wake-up call! 🌳🏙️ These pictures from Five Gardens, Dadar today, shows how much citizens value accessible public green spaces. Yet, as the city loses greenery to relentless development, where will Mumbaikars find shade and relief from rising temperatures? @mayor_mumbai must act now: 🌿 Protect existing trees and open spaces. 🏞️ Keep Layout Open Spaces (LOS) and Recreational Grounds (RG) genuinely green—with natural grass and permeable surfaces, not artificial turf. 🌱 Recreational Grounds on Mother Earth, not on podiums! 🌳 Create accessible parks within residential and commercial neighbourhoods to help combat the urban heat island effect. Green cover cannot exist only on paper or on the city’s outskirts. Mumbai needs living greenery where people live and work. @mybmc, protect our green spaces before they disappear. Save our trees. Preserve our open spaces. Let Mumbai breathe! @mumbaimatterz @VishalBhargava5 @hussaindorewala @chakachakdadar @AshwiniBhide @PrajaktaVerma
