Bizarre experience at @LBofBromley. Councillors prayed to God to give them wisdom to make the right decisions.
Then Colin Smith,CEO Adetosoye& @MayorofBromley0 said, who cares if we signed off your block with no fire breaks, we'll keep the £1 mil tax you've paid on flats worth £0.

.@HomeBuildersFed who know full well the quality of new build homes is so poor & so dangerous that lenders won't touch them with a barge pole.
Instead of squeezing taxpayers & leaseholders for obscene profits for your rogue members, do your job & build safe, quality homes.
Mortgage availability and pricing are often less favourable for new build homes than for older properties. Some lenders do not offer mortgages on new builds, while others provide less competitive terms, particularly for apartments. As a result, higher deposits are often required and many households are blocked from buying energy-efficient new homes. Your First Home provides an opportunity to address this, though the detail will be crucial.

Alex Pretti's father: Our son was shot and killed by the government, federal immigration agents, on January 24th, 2026. We learned about his death from the media as we saw him being shot repeatedly in the back after helping a woman from his community. This was not a protest that Alex was at. His hands were in the air, and his face was on the ground when he was executed by ICE agents. We know exactly what our eyes saw. No one from the federal government called us on that day. But they did go on TV to tell lies about Alex. No one has called us since. No one has recanted those lies.

I smell royal lobbying and interference. They can get exemptions from leasehold laws, but that won't work if leasehold is abolished altogether. A significant part of their 'private' income is from fleecing leasehold tenants.

Queen Elizabeth also paid £12 million to one of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s victims, yet nobody has asked her how long she had known about it or why she didn’t go to the authorities.

LHs are sick of excuses. Another interview, another promise, another vague deadline. Meanwhile, SC soar, accountability remains elusive & LHs are still trapped in same broken system. On the ground, NOTHING HAS CHANGED. Labour dragging its feet why should LHs believe anything will
Service charges up 26% in a year.
Our supporters are clinging on by their fingernails while the government retreats on its manifesto promise to end leasehold.
@andyburnham talks about taking back control. So why won’t his upcoming Bill give leaseholders the Right to Manage?

Inflation spiked in 2022, so the previous govt capped shared owners’ rent increases at 7% in 2023.
Housing associations resented it.
Pennycook promised he wouldn’t cap our rent increases for the next decade. Now they have "greater certainty".

This government’s plans are too little, too late.
We call on MPs scrutinising the Social Housing Bill to insist on a statutory review of shared ownership and demand funding for buybacks.

Leasehold isn't mentioned at all in the entire article. Gaslighting of the highest order.

How has housing been allowed to get and stay this bad?
Despite repeated reports to Peabody, Kent House stairwells remain pitch black, including designated fire escape routes.
Residents have been left in darkness for days. This is a serious safety concern.
How much longer must residents wait for basic repairs?

Cardinal Lofts (another dangerously unsafe @railpen building) mentioned at the Second Reading. A building so unsafe residents were permanently evicted and eventually bought out as they couldn't sell and move on. And yet some say they're the lucky ones...

They said Kamala was ahead in the polls.
I don’t give a fuck what the polls say right now. Get your ass out there and fucking vote.

Imagine if you stood up at work and said “You know who has one hell of a beautiful ass? It’s Carol from accounting. Stand up Carol! Show them your ass!”
You’d be fired within the hour but the president gets a pass because everyone has accepted the fact that he’s a scumbag.

Katie, I’m sitting here watching the Building Safety Bill reading in the HoP & there are only 3 Tory MPs?!
Where are u on this issue? Why are the Tories AWOL
A # of Tories have made significant contributions to this issue in the past but right now u are absent from the pitch

'No building and no residents will be left behind' says @AngelaRayner at the Second Reading of the building safety bill. I'm not sure those who have spent a huge amount of money/their life savings on interim costs eg insurance will come out of this not feeling left behind..
