For Lillard to match Steph in both 3PT and 3P%, he'd have to hit another 1,206 threes... at a 62% clip!
Harden could hit his next 800 threes IN A ROW - and he'd still be behind Steph in both volume and efficiency!

As part of a competition with some friends last week, I attempted the very dumb challenge of writing out the names of 3,000 real people (dead or alive) in one sitting
It took 7 hours, but I got it done
Here's a breakdown of the names I wrote 🧵⬇️

There's nobody like Steph. There's no one in the same zip code as Steph.
In the context of NBA history, dropping 40+ points at 6'2 and 38 years old is literally unheard of. The oldest player other than Steph even under 6'5 to drop 40 is Dame, who had 43 at age 34.
Steph has now scored 40 or more 21 times since turning 34, breaking a tie with Michael Jordan for the most such games in league history.

Remove def 3 secs: goes too far. I'd be ok with 5 secs.
Shorten regular season: good but won't happen.
Eliminate corner 3: yeah, 3's should be the same distance from anywhere. So draw that arc and it pretty much eliminates corner, but not completely.
Weird FT rules: nah I'm good
For anyone who was too young to have watched Melo play, and might be inclined to believe he was a good defender:
Hahaha no
Decent on-ball, but rarely great. And horrific off-ball.
Carmelo Anthony says he’s never had a player score 30 points on him 👀

Thread of observations and opinions.
1. Pelicans are trying to appease too many egos. It's beyond clear there are players who are detrimental to the culture and basketball product. Pels can't let fear decide how to manage this. If they cause problems, send them home.
I've got milk in the fridge that lasted longer than the "Jalen Green can kinda be a PG" nonsense
Players in the Suns’ locker room are frustrated by the lack of a true point guard on the roster, per @ChrisBHaynes
"There's some growing frustration within that locker room for the simple fact that that roster does not have a point guard that can organize that offense... I don't know that the Suns are looking to address as of right now, the hope is that they can kind of play this role by committee, but as of right now, it's not looking like it."

I know a lot of Jazz fans are upset about Hardy benching Darryn down the stretch, just like some Hornets fans are about Lee benching Naz. Two thoughts:
1. There's so much we don't about the specifics from the outside.
2. If you want a winning culture, this is the kind of uncomfortable, unpopular stuff you have to do sometimes. Pop did it to Parker and Ginobili. Spo + Carlisle have done it. There are lines and consequences for crossing them.

Steph's incredible. This past summer, he saw a video of this kid from Minnesota making a long 3-pointer in a game in his school gym. The crowd went crazy and Wyatt, wearing a Curry jersey, did the night-night celebration! Steph sent him a video and invited him to tonight's game!
This is what kills me when people say Bob Myers (and Kerr) have had easy jobs because of the talent that preceded them. It completely discounts how hard it is to manage very successful people with massive egos + insecurities
When it comes to stories about drama in the NBA (and in life), facts RARELY matter to many of the people telling the story. It’s just who they are friends with and have allegiances with in the situation. The biggest issue in most interpersonal relationship issues on NBA teams is many front office types are NOT equipped with the tools to manage those relationships when they have fractures. A guy like Bob Myers was EXCELLENT at it. But many front office types are good at the talent evaluation part and not the talent and people management part.
If the pace + constant motion of today's NBA game is at least partially responsible for all of these stress injuries, I don't know how you put the toothpaste back in the tube.
Drive-and-kick, hounding ballhandlers for 75+ ft... this stuff has been proven to help win games.

Right now an NBA game has 203 possessions
5 years ago was 198
10 years ago was 192
15 years ago was 186
17% of all possession are now picked up in backcourt
5 years ago was 10%
10 years ago was 6.5%
