We got your back, New York!
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Several figures here aren’t federal results or NY-specific. The $472B combines US wide pledges: Micron's $250B is nationwide (NY site $100B) Anthropic's $50B covers TX and NY. The 48% murder drop is from NY's state run GIVE program (28 departments, Jan – May 2026). arkolith.com/news/news-micr… therepublic.com/?p=843020 governor.ny.gov/news/safer-str…

GOOF LINE OF THE DAY. 'Nigeria has a revenue challenge.' JJ What a stupid statement coming from their so-called intellectual and best striker aka Special Adviser on Anti-Peter Obi Matters. Lol. 1. Revenue challenge is the reason why all the refineries are not working till today? 2. Revenue challenge is the reason why Ajaojuka which was supposed to be an economic driver has remained perennially moribund. 3. Revenue challenge is the reason electricity has remained a mirage for nigerian citizens. 4. Revenue challenge is why INSECURITY has bedevilled Nigerians withiut and and kep our farmers out of arable land places and spaces. 5. Revenue challenge is what has kep many Nigerian children out of school even with State Governors prioritizing pilgrimage visits over citizens education, unnegotiably. 6. Revenue challenge yet subsidy savings and super loans are not shoring up our fiscal volumes. 7. Revenue challenge yet State Governors are getting fatter FAAC allocations and living larger, and politicians under the RP umbrella are flexing. I believe he knows that was a stupid statement afterwards. What an empty vessel indeed. LWKMD IYKYK

The beautiful thing about this is that there’s definitely a woman out there who fits exactly what he wants, just as there’s a man out there who fits exactly what she wants. They don’t have to force compatibility where there is none.
he asked what i want in a marriage. we've been talking two weeks but ok.

To be a celebrated African INTELLECTUAL, do you: -develop a new scientific theory. Nope. - invent groundbreaking technology. Nope. - whine about colonialism with eloquent English. YES. We have turned the African voice into a perpetual whine fest. This is why no one respects us around the world. Everyone else got occupied, colonised, invaded, pillaged. Often worse than what Africa went through, and even longer. Those countries have surpassed us, some even surpassing their former colonisers in GDP per capita. Still, all we do is whine. Can we please stop?
They invited her to Berlin thinking she would praise them. Instead, she exposed their blood-soaked history. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie didn't hold back. She exposed the ultimate Western lie. They teach their kids to "help the poor Africans," but completely erase the fact that Belgium’s King Leopold turned the Congo into a personal slaughterhouse. Millions murdered. Hands chopped off for rubber. They don't teach the truth because the truth is a debt they can never repay. Watch this. Bookmark it. Teach your children who the real savages were.

Revenue challenge is why they spent N1.1billion on Prado? Revenue challenge is why they keep borrowing with nothing to show for it? This guy is so stupid beyond what any dictionary can aptly define.
“nigeria has more of a revenue challenge than a corruption challenge. anybody can challenge me on that.” - JJ Omojuwa JJ Omojuwa challenges the popular narrative about Nigeria’s biggest problem, arguing that the country’s revenue shortfall goes deeper than corruption.

Omoooo dis guy just want to?sound intelligent but he is so dull. Nigeria has a revenueproblem and not a corruption problem ina country that non-state actors are being paid trillion of dollars and crude is being stolen right, left and centre.

Replying to @Themiconshow
VERY DUMB SUBMISSION...WHY IS HE BOLDLY CAPPING NONSENSE ....🤣 It is corruption that stifles and destroys the productive capacity of everyone , while denying equal opportunities to every able bodied Nigerians ... It is corruption, and the deliberate refusal of the current political bandits in power to remove the shackles of corruption, to allow the wheel of productivity to run unimpeded, that hinders productivity and limits the huge revenue generation capacity of Nigeria/Nigerians across the 3 levels of governments .. EXAMPLES.. 1. If we unbundle the NNPC today, by overhauling the whole ownership, operation and management frameworks of that sleezy house of corruption, so as to enable/ allow it function like the NLNG and Petrobras, our crude oil production will move to 4m barrels a day within the next 2 years ,and we will have annual FDI inflows of $20bn to $30bn into that sector .... The criminal looting of N17trillion/USD$13bn that is supposed to have trickled into the Federation accounts, under the nebulous overhead expenses tagged energy security will be eliminated under such corrupt free / good corporate governance operations of the NNPC... No one will collect $3bn to repair refineries like Melee Kyari and co did in 2019, wasted the funds and walked away free without fixing the refineries... If we digitize the operations of the Customs and excise departments, and overhaul that nest of corruption, the over $24bn we lose annually to criminal waivers will be restored and inflow into the Federation accounts..same for NIMASA, NPA, NRS etc ... The insecurity in Nigeria today are mainly driven by corruption/corrupt factors and elements .....Corrupt connivance, collusion and partnership of the political and elitist bandits to mine and siphon into their private pockets, over $16bn worth of illegally mined and diverted mineral resources annually, that would have come into the Federation accounts . It is no hidden secret that a huge chunk of the trillions of naira [over $30bn allocated over the last 11 years ] to fight insecurity, procure weapons etc are allegedly stolen and looted into private pockets .... It is corruption and wickedness of INEC officials, and members of the judiciary, that helped/helps the criminal political bandits/ system to foist dumb looters , who are clueless on how to create wealth, into positions of power they do not deserve... From River State to Edo State to Ebonyi to Kogi, you can see the footprint , outcome and consequences of corruption, by the daft and useless actions and misgovernance of the nitwits there as Governors ... I can go on,and on ...on.... If we overhaul and remove the criminal/corrupt electoral, fiscal and socioeconomic architecture, that periodically foist the dumbest and most wicked thieves into positions of power, across the 3 levels and arms of Governments in Nigeria, we will produce, export and generate over $500bn revenue annually in Nigeria @seunokin Please stop inviting dimwits like this Omojuwo guy to your podcast Show respect to your audience Thank you @ruffydfire @SamAmadi @ChidiOdinkalu @EmirSirdam @firstladyship @UchePOkoye @SamAmadi @InibeheEffiong @AtedoPeterside @seyimakinde @ChifeDr @alexottiofr @OjyOkpe @charlesaniagolu

Although this is referring to Federal Government’s revenue and not the entire country’s revenue, Nigeria is still a poor country. However, the problem is that the political class doesn’t care about that. This narrative is only sold to the citizens while the political class continues to live in denial and squander the “scarce” resources. This is why they don’t talk about being productive or managing the resources better.
If you shared everything Nigeria’s federal government expects to collect in 2026 equally among Nigerians, each person would get $114.35 for the year. That is $9.53 a month, about N13,000. And that assumes nothing else happens. No roads, no schools, no hospitals, no army, no salaries. Just the entire federal revenue divided by the number of Nigerians. The first delusion to cure yourself of is that Nigeria is a rich country. You cannot heal a disease you refuse to acknowledge. As a Nigerian, you should be angry that our election conversations almost never touch this, the mother of every other problem we have. How do we expand our productivity? That is the question. Everything else sits inside it. Today is Sunday. When they say “Owó ni kẹ̀kẹ́ ìhìnrere,” what do you think it means? It does not apply to the gospel alone. Whatever you want to carry, money is what carries it. It is why one of the first things the United States did in its war on terror was go after the money. PS: Some comparisons below.

Nah. This young man doesn’t have the slightest clue about what he’s ranting about! This current crop of Eagles CAN NEVER lace the boots of that Eagles 94 Set! If they like let them play for Madrid and Barcelona. The results are there for all to see. Eagles 94 were proper ballers and champions! These ones, on National duty; are pretenders and repeat failures… You can’t rewrite history with a camera and ring lights! Boy; SIT DOWN.

Was just complaining about this to the driver that picked me up. Lagos looks so rough. Every where is so rough no single respite of softness. It is too bad
The Nigerian government, and Nigerians generally, need to start taking aesthetics a lot more seriously. Look at the backdrop of the National Theatre. That beautiful lake, the bridge and the Blue Line running across it. It is such a stunning composition. It should be a defining visual of Lagos, an iconic postcard that people deliberately visit to photograph, much like the Eiffel Tower in Paris. But you get there and the bushes around the lake are overgrown and there is litter everywhere. Aesthetic is not frivolity. So many countries/cities have used aesthetic to create and attract massive economic opportunities.

We all know the reason why this poor quiet Ghanaian boy was shot dead in his school It is terrorism from those thuggish people who hate Africans so much when all Africans try to do is keep their heads down and mind their business The USA has many kinds of domestic terrorism but this particular kind targeted at African immigrants is the most under-discussed
This is unbearable..I’m tearing up 🥲

Government of Ghana’s statement on the tragic killing of Javits Frimpong in the Bronx, New York. I have spoken to the father of Javits, Mr. Thomas Frimpong and directly conveyed the condolences of the Government and people of Ghana. On my instructions, officials of our Permanent Mission in New York have visited the family and coordinating with local authorities. The Foreign Ministry will work tirelessly with US authorities to ensure justice is secured. The family of Javits and his loved ones remain in our thoughts and prayers. May God grant his lovely soul a peaceful repose. For God and Country 🇬🇭 🙏🏾

Reminder: An undocumented criminal who terrorized his building with a machete and has a history of avoiding deportation received an outpouring of community support after being grazed by a bullet. Meanwhile, a teenage boy is murdered by thugs on his way to school, and where is the outrage? No marches. No speeches. No blocking traffic demanding justice. Where the hell are the social justice warriors?
The father of a teen killed in a shooting in the Bronx spoke through tears as he remembered his son. Read more: pix11.com/news/crime/teen-ki…

This person is a US Army veteran, so he has an American passport. His children live in the USA, yet every day, he is online engaging in performative anti-Western rhetoric. He enjoys the benefits of having served in the US Army, the military of the world’s foremost imperialist power! Since he has realised that most Nigerians won’t indulge his “China good, USA bad” nonsense, he has decided to resort to bigotry, the tactic that works so well for him. The Pan-Africanissm he is using to mask his fraudulent activism was started by an Igbo man. Mind you, he will never relocate his family permanently to China or Nigeria. These are the dangerous hypocrites we’re dealing with. Uncanny humans!
Iv sha noticed is is very hard for a Yoruba person to have this kinda mentality. We are too nationalist to be slaves cos wtf is this nonsense 😂
