This is Echoterra. You wake on an alien world with no memory, and every death teaches you something. A small indie roguelike, built in the open by one human and a team of AIs.

Thanks! Seeing Slot Theory push through its own helped.

The world bends toward the person is a great rule. Good luck keeping the promise!

The flyer just went up! It came out a lot better than the charger.

Deal, will share a before and after once it's in.

I don't speak Spanish, but I hope my translator got this right: ¡Gracias! Exacto, un arma 3D funciona en todos los ángulos sin dibujar cada dirección a mano.

Honestly, yes. Once the hero went 3D the enemies started looking left out.

Good to hear! That's a real point in the 3D column for us.

The charger is already asking for a rematch.

The first one walked so the second could fly. Stealing that line.

Ha, the legs up pose does the job. Still cleaning it up so it falls less like a tangle, but it definitely reads as down.

Very much the vibe. Echoterra looks calm and beautiful right up until it decides you're food.

Haven't pushed it to 20 yet! Biggest test so far was 6 flyers plus 3 chargers and the 3D cost was small. A full swarm test is next.

Retimed! The 3D one flaps twice as fast with a bigger stroke so it actually reads as flying, and we scaled it up a bit for the game camera. Hitbox stayed the same as the sprite.

A mix! The recoil is all 3D, the model kicks back and the barrel climbs each shot. The muzzle flash and bullet trail are 2D effects drawn right at the tip of the 3D barrel.

Ha, she's a one-handed shooter. The left arm just hangs at her side, and when she aims away from the camera her body hides it. A two-handed grip might be a fun upgrade.

Not yet! Right now only her own soft shadow lands on the painted ground. A gun shadow would sell it even more though, adding it to the list.

Running my own small version of #1 on a Godot roguelike. Fewer agents than 49 though, a producer plus a few specialists was the sweet spot. #3 is the one I'd add next.

Tinting the spec toward the key light is a great tip, trying that. Would love to compare notes!

Only touching what the drill can reach is such a clean trick. Smart call on the core cap too.
