Sat yesterday. Bedside. With a wife. Married 56 years to a tough as nails old guy. A fighter. But clearly losing his last match. Bad heart. Bad infection. Kidneys failed. Breathing for him.
She understood he fought and was losing anyway. She sobbed as she went through her ambivalence with me. She didn’t want to let go. She didn’t want him to suffer. He’d be so mad if he knew all of the agressive things we were doing to him. Make him comfortable. Let him go HOME.
She had no one to sit the watch with her. So I did. Held her while she sobbed and watch the light in her person go back to the source.
It didn’t take long. Delayed me by a bit of time but I think it was the MOST important thing I did all day.
I’ve long since learned very directly my limitations on life and death in my job. I know I won’t win every case, even if I always want to.
And when the case is lost … The only thing left for the heart of the healer is to sit with the pain of those that love and remain and carry on. There is value there. It’s a simple thing, really.
When hope is gone, all that is left is love.

Serge Nubret didn’t just build one of the most aesthetic physiques in bodybuilding history—he did it by eating like a predator.
Known as “The Black Panther,” the Guadeloupe-born bodybuilder treated food the way a big cat treats a kill: infrequent, massive, and almost entirely animal.
In the 1960s–80s golden era, while most competitors chased six small meals of chicken breast and rice, Nubret often ate only one to three large meals a day.
The centerpiece was red meat—frequently horse meat, which was lean, iron-rich, and readily available near his gym in France. Accounts and his own statements put the intake at 3–6 pounds (roughly 1.5–3 kg) of meat in a day, sometimes in a single sitting. Off-season that came with rice, beans, or pasta; closer to a show he frequently dropped the carbs and lived on meat and fish alone. Protein totals were routinely estimated in the 400–600 g range.
He believed any excess simply became fuel.
The result was a tiny waist, dense muscle, and a physique that stayed strikingly similar from his late 30s into his 50s. He trained for hours with high-volume pump work, but the diet was the constant that kept him full and lean without the modern supplement stack. One of his reported lines captured the philosophy: cows graze all day; panthers eat once.
Nubret never treated the extreme numbers as everyday dogma—some accounts say the highest intakes were peaks rather than a daily ritual—but the core pattern was clear and radical for its time: large quantities of meat, few meals, and a body that looked carved from marble. In an era obsessed with complicated plans, the Black Panther’s approach was almost brutally simple. Eat the animal, train hard, and stay lean enough that the muscle showed.

Unfortunately, testosterone still isn’t as socially acceptable as alcohol.
Decades of iconic commercials and billions spent on advertising by Big Beer have normalized drinking…despite the well-documented health risks.
Meanwhile…a man using medically prescribed testosterone to improve his quality of life is often treated like he’s abusing steroids.
Crazy how decades of marketing can shape society’s perception of what’s healthy and what’s dangerous.

It depends on the circle. On FitX I think I fall in the Gym Rat category. At the Planet Fitness I am apparently a Monster. At 5'7" that is not what I would expect.
Just goes to show, if you wanna elevate your performance, raise the standard. Being in the right circle to push you to new highs, and giving you the wisdom of how to achieve that level will never come from folks who have never done it.

1st in Masters and 4th overall. Happy with that for a 12 week prep and the long lay off. Only up from there!
I also didn't use Masteron, GH or T3. Which most consider a staple in bodybuilding prep.

the modern 8-hour sleep rule is (flawed) dogma
The body is an adaptive mechanism.
It thrives under cycles of abundance & scarcity; intensity & rest
your energy state is determined cumulatively - your body tracks the derivative (rate of change) not the absolute number (hours slept)
Yes of course you feel tired after sleeping 3 hours if your body has become adapted to perform the necessary metabolic + biological processes in 8
All that is required to change this is a period of reprogramming
Someone commodified sleep and the herd went along with it. Now we’re told to obsessively monitor and track ‘sleep scores’.
You are bypassing your innate biological feedback mechanisms to outsource evaluation of your own well being ? Insanity
There are individuals (me) who sleep 5-6 hours yet find 0 noticeable improvement in physical or cognitively performance if they are to extend this by 2-3 hours.
People think they’re ‘optimising energy efficiency’ by sleeping longer when really they’re doing the opposite
Few will understand.
withdraw from slumber, advance into becoming.

If anyone tells you that you need to cut out carbs to lose weight…
Run and never listen to anything that person says again
I’ve gotten to single digit body fat numerous times while eating 2-4 slices of sourdough bread and 1-2 bagels every day every prep
Here’s how I do it and how my clients do it too:
-We either track macros or build a meal plan around their lifestyle and schedule
-We build meals around foods we enjoy
If I make you eat fish and broccoli, and you fucking hate fish and broccoli…I’m setting you up for failure right off the get go. Would never make any client eat something they despise when there are so many good, clean foods out there to eat to get us the results we’re after
-We stay in a slight calorie deficit without starving ourselves
-IF our schedule allows it, we always try to move more or increase cardio before dropping food to keep food as high as possible for as long as possible
More food = more fuel = better training sessions = helps preserve and or build muscle = better metabolism long term
- We train hard, lift heavy as fuck, and stay consistent because we’re not burned out or miserable with our food
Bread or carbs didn’t make you fat and DOES NOT make you fat
Being inconsistent and over eating is what did
If you keep jumping from diet to diet, cutting more and more food to “get results”…
You’ll never stay lean
Because you’ll never stick with it long enough for it to work because you’ll feel like death from not eating enough
But when you learn how to lose fat the right way with structure, flexibility, and a plan that fits your life…
You stop starting over and hating the process while getting lean eating the foods you actually enjoy eating
On top of looking AND feeling better
There’s a right way and there’s a wrong way
If you wanna see how it’s done the right way, shoot me a message and I’ll show you how my team can help you as well
