These far right morons with microphones doubled and tripled down on white nationalism and claimed that they had to do it for electoral reasons. Well not only did they contribute to chasing away minorities, they almost LOST the white vote. Democrats won the largest share of the white vote in decades. White grievance politics doesn’t even appeal to the majority of white people! Fix the economy.

“Immigrants lost the election for us” is the rightwing “Kamala lost because of racism” You just prove you’re unfit to govern if your only takeaway from defeat is cope

Mississippi turning Democrat and Tim Pool says the Republicans need to embrace Nick Fuentes. Explain how that works when the deepest red states in the country are voting for the left.
Nick Fuentes is the future of the GOP

I want AI to replace politicians. Think about it. No donors. No reelection campaign. No ego. No insider trading. Doesn’t need to be liked. Reads every bill before voting on it. Every time I say this, someone tells me it’s dangerous. Have you seen the current system?

LISTEN TO THIS POINT HERE. So many stupid right wing grifters openly trafficked in white nationalist rhetoric and claimed that it was the only way Republicans would win. Well not only did the party lose the minorities they JUST WON two years ago, but you lost young white men too. So what was the point?! All of that garbage didn’t even help you with the people YOU SAID YOU WERE DOING IT FOR. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

They also lost the young white male vote. So not only did they alienate what little support they had with minorities, they did it to no benefit among their base either.

it saddens me to see people becoming increasingly hostile toward ai. not because the technology is above criticism, but because i think we’re standing at the beginning of something that could make life unimaginably better for billions of people.

Prediction: The AI progress and data centers will not meaningfully slow down due to the midterms. The DNC, in power, will face the same incentive structures, special interest groups, lobbyists, and geopolitical realities and quietly keep things moving along. Yes, there will be some political theater around data centers, but in the grand scheme of things, they will still say that America needs to industrialize and they'll probably frame it like: "Building data centers brings good jobs!" and "Building chip fabs brings good jobs!" That sort of thing. It's all about framing.

A word on this: the anti-Indian racism, at least in Texas, is partially a form of anti-tech/AI sentiment.
There are so many issues where MAGA was so far from the people, and one of them is obviously AI. I have no clue the extent to which that was a factor in this election but it will be a huge issue going forward.

You have to continue to win your coalition in every election. Spending two years alienating key elements of the coalition was the wrong tactic, full stop. They didn’t just blow an election, they blew a generational reshuffling.
As a practitioner of realpolitik, I spent the last two years saying things that were deeply unpopular in the online Right ecosystem, but that I believed were hard, realistic, and practical truths conservatives needed to hear. Chief among them: Trump built a large and diverse coalition that pulled from the margins, bringing nontraditional Republican voters into a powerful voting bloc. For Republicans to continue winning, they’d have to continue appealing to and pulling from those margins. One group we gained ground with was Americans of Indian ancestry, among whom we managed to move from roughly 20% to 33% support. Not ideal, but better than we’d done historically. Some influencers thought it would be more fun to mock Indian Republicans as “pagan poo people” and entertain fantasies of mass remigration (never going to happen) instead. That 33% dropped to 16%. “So what?! We don’t need them,” some had told me. I disagree. Politics is not a game where we should pursue the perfect at the cost of the good. As Bismarck once said, “Politics is the art of the possible, the attainable—the art of the next best.” In politics, we must often contend not with what is best, but with what is next best. Politics is a chess game. You have to be realistic about the material conditions on the board and make decisions based on what is possible, what is attainable, and sometimes what produces the least negative outcome. I’m not arguing that losing Indian support cost us certain seats, or that online hostility caused that decline. But I think these examples collectively spell trouble. We need to carefully consider, going forward, whether we want to adopt the difficult but realistic strategies required to win, or whether we want to lose but feel good about our ideals, even as our country becomes a place where they will mean little. Exhibit A: someone who confuses coalition building with pandering, and measures its success by whether we win a demographic outright. Reducing your opponent’s margin among a group improves your position across the electorate. You don’t need to win every demographic. You need to assemble a winning coalition.

The GOP is gonna have to learn that Twitter isn’t real life, and learn fast. It’s headed straight into the jaws of the beast costing Republican victories tonight. Embrace the normies or else.

If Republicans want to reach normie middle-of -the-road female voters maybe it’s time to stop the “jokes” about repealing the 19th amendment, putting down working women, and demonizing empathy. Oh—and enough with the influencers who pretend to be average stay-at-home moms that tell other women not to work—-while working and employing a team of nanny’s and personal assistants. Just spitballing.

Even radical forward-thinking individuals on other fronts, politics, technology, art, or ethics, show a remarkable conservatism when it comes to death. They bristle at the idea of resisting mortality, instinctively invoking limits, cautions, or taboos they would otherwise ignore.

The AI bubble might finally be popping, more than 50% of S&P 500 companies have dropped 20% or more from their highs And we’re not talking about random small companies here. We’re talking about Nvidia, Amazon, Google, Intel, Meta and Netflix. Investors are starting to question the insane amount of money being thrown at AI, the huge infrastructure costs and whether all this spending will actually pay off. AI can absolutely change the world. But that doesn’t mean every company throwing billions at it is going to make money.
