For some reason I keep watching old Glastonbury clips and wondering - 'Could you ever persuade the people then that the world would become so fked up, so quickly?'

Unclear whether peace in Ukraine can be achieved through negotiations – Rubio.
“That is exactly what we are trying to figure out. I don’t think anyone here is claiming that we are on the verge of a peace agreement,” the U.S. Secretary of State said during a meeting of G20 foreign ministers in Atlanta.
Also noteworthy is a remark Trump made to reporters, which came to light this morning:
“I believe we are very close to an agreement. I haven’t said this until now because—as you know—there was immense hatred between the two heads of state. But now, there is a very good chance that we can reach this agreement.”

Trump is actively participating in Russian propaganda campaigns while trying to make energy deals for his family and cronies. Nobody is buying it, just like nobody should be buying Putin’s blood diesel.

🇷🇺 🇷🇺 Trump Has Put America on Russia’s Side. Republicans Are Paying the Price.
The numbers are devastating. According to an October Economist/YouGov poll, 66% of American voters sympathise with Ukraine. Just 3% sympathise with Russia.
Even Republican politicians are revolting.
Congressman Don Bacon has accused Trump of effectively surrendering to Putin. Brian Fitzpatrick calls the administration’s actions unacceptable. Republican Speaker Mike Johnson acknowledges that Putin cannot be trusted.
Yet Trump continues lifting Russian sanctions, allowing Russian diesel imports and undermining Ukrainian military assistance.
And the electoral consequences are becoming impossible to ignore.
Only 28% of voters approve of Trump’s handling of Ukraine. A recent Reuters/Ipsos poll puts Democrats nine points ahead among likely voters.
Ukraine is hardly Trump’s only disaster. Economic mismanagement, inflation, foreign-policy chaos and attacks on American institutions have compounded the damage.
The remarkable thing? These are Trump’s decisions.
Republicans handed him the steering wheel. Now they are discovering what happens when the driver heads straight towards Moscow.

🇺🇦🇷🇺 TWO CIVILIANS FLEEING UNDER A WHITE FLAG KILLED BY A RUSSIAN SOLDIER
Two Ukrainian civilians attempting to escape under a white flag were killed by a Russian soldier. Their dog was also killed.
A white flag is a visible signal of peaceful intent. Civilians fleeing danger are protected under international humanitarian law, regardless of which side controls the territory.
The incident raises serious questions about accountability for Russian forces and the protection of civilians.
Meanwhile, Trump, Witkoff and Musk have faced criticism over their public positions concerning Russia and the war.
Whatever diplomatic approach Washington chooses, the killing of fleeing civilians cannot be treated as a secondary concern.
Any serious effort to end this war must confront the violence being inflicted on the people trying to survive it.

Kramatorsk, another Ukrainian frontline city being steadily scarred by Russia’s war. October footage from the 24th Mechanized Brigade shows the growing destruction. Bakhmut, Soledar, Avdiivka and Mar’inka are reminders of what happens when a city remains in Russia’s path for too long. #Ukraine

As a Ukrainian, I personally am very happy about the renewal of strikes on Russian oil refineries.
Russia is bombing us anyway, killing our kids on the streets, striking our energy grid, killing families in their homes, so if stopping changes nothing, why should we?
Because Trump says it would help him broker a deal? A corrupt enrichment deal - yes, definitely. A peace deal - no.
Because he will stop sharing intelligence? Then more of us will die, but at least we'd die resisting. And not succumb to blatant blackmail.... of the victim! When its Russia who is the aggressor, and who should be blackmailed and pressured into stopping strikes.

Trump tells us, because of the war, there is not enough money to take care of the American people.
Keep in mind, everyone in Israel is entitled to healthcare, including long term care for the elderly. Public preschool is free and retirement benefits are generous.
Trump puts Israel first. It is infuriating 😡

🇳🇴🇫🇮 NORWAY SENDS A MESSAGE TO PUTIN: WE ARE NOT NEUTRAL. WE STAND WITH UKRAINE 🇺🇦🇷🇺
Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide has rejected the idea that European countries should position themselves halfway between Russia and Ukraine.
“We are not here to be facilitators or mediators. We are not in the middle ground. We are on Ukraine’s side.”
For Norway and Finland, this position is shaped by geography and experience. Both share borders with Russia and understand the security implications of Moscow’s aggression.
Eide also insisted that no decisions about Ukraine’s future should be made without Kyiv’s involvement. Any diplomatic initiative, he said, must be coordinated with President Zelenskyy.
But perhaps his most important point concerned the supposed choice between military assistance and peace negotiations.
Eide rejected that distinction entirely.
Supporting Ukraine militarily and economically does not prevent countries from pursuing diplomacy. In his view, the two efforts reinforce each other.
There is a strategic logic behind that argument: negotiations conducted while Ukraine remains capable of defending itself are fundamentally different from negotiations in which Kyiv is pressured to accept terms because its support has been withdrawn.
Norway’s position is clear. Seeking peace does not require pretending that the aggressor and the country defending itself bear equal responsibility for the war.

Before russia invaded Ukraine, they spent years gearing up to tell the biggest lie ever told. They put billions into buying media & politicians in the west to gain influence. Then in 2022 they used it to tell the world what they were doing was justified. And they keep doing that to this day. I’ve been investigating this for 7 years, way before I even moved to Ukraine. My first report was with @ZarinaZabrisky in 2019 about this exact issue🫡. If anyone thinks I just showed up in Ukraine out of nowhere, that’s not the reality.

So it seems the US decision to supply 500 Patriot Interceptors is designed ... to sound good, but not to upset the russians. President Zelenskyy says it is deferred for A FEW YEARS. Needless to say, the State Department makes it sound as if it's immediate.
They are needed NOW.
A strong decision by the U.S. State Department – authorizing Ukraine’s purchase of Patriot interceptors to counter Russian ballistic missiles. Five hundred PAC-3 interceptors is a substantial number, and very soon – this winter – they COULD make for a highly effective defense package. However, it has been stipulated that deliveries may begin ONLY IN A FEW YEARS. We are asking our American partners to find a solution for the time when there is a real danger and a real need to use PAC-3 interceptors.
Right now, the Russians are attacking our energy infrastructure every single day. In just these past two weeks of October, there have already been more than 30 Russian strikes on critical parts of our power grid. It is right now, even before the beginning of winter, that Putin has started carrying out his operation to attack the systems that sustain life in our cities and communities. The targets are electricity, heating, water supplies, bridges, and life in our cities in general.
We did ask our American partners to provide Ukraine with a winter support package – at a rate of 100 Patriot interceptors per month. Five hundred missiles would be enough to protect our skies over the coming months – precisely when it is so important for Ukraine to be in a strong position in negotiations and for Russia NOT to succeed in breaking life in Ukrainian cities and communities.
The United States, our European partners, and other partners around the world have sufficient stocks of PAC-3 interceptors in their warehouses. Providing them to Ukraine right now – in the winter of 2026–2027 – and replenishing our partners’ arsenals LATER, in THE FOLLOWING YEARS, through this production already contracted and paid for by Ukraine and our partners would be the right approach. And it is entirely feasible.
We are grateful to President Trump. Importantly, we recently discussed PAC-3 interceptors with Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Ukraine is grateful to the U.S. State Department and the U.S. Administration overall for granting this authorization. But we are asking for decisions that can guarantee the protection of lives not the day after tomorrow or sometime later, but at the very moment the threat is there – when Russia is killing and destroying. I thank everyone who stands with Ukraine!
